review

I hired her for assistance in a child custody case. Just wanted her to assist bringing the opposing party to the table for mediation. But unfortunately Ms. Rooks has the bedside manner of a porcupine. Very little attention to detail, very little human-to-human concern for other people in the same ...room. Horrible; inconsistent communicator, both in person and via email. Doesn't follow through with simple tasks: "Oh yeah, I'll file that paperwork first thing Monday morning." Never happens. Have to remind her who you are when you call, etc. She's short tempered, short email exchanges (even after you've taken time to write in detail about your case), quick outbursts, etc. Always about the money prior to any further discussion of your case. Not diplomatic at all in cases where the tone of the person communicating the message can be just as important as the message itself. And isn't it generally assumed that your attorney (or at least her clerical staff) should be able to spell their client's name correctly in court documents, or perhaps spell the opposing party's name correctly? I guess not. She's zero for two on that count. Not only would I say not to hire her, I'd recommend running - not walking - away. If it were possible to give less than 1-star, I would give them to her in every category. Not just a borderline horrible attorney; but a borderline bad person.

Total Regret hiring this Firm

I recently went through a divorce and retained this firm and my case was handled by a paralegal Tina Simon all my contact was with Ms. Simon until I fired this Firm, I was totally discouraged by the handling of my case, I wasn't informed on anything, getting copy's of documents was like it wasn't min...e pertaining to my case and then I asked for the remainder of my retainer after firing this firm and went through hell, do not hire this disloyal firm you will regret it, I did and still do.

Very unprofessional and EXTREMELY UNTRUSTWORTHY

She was very unprofessional in handling my case, she lied about filing my papers. She NEVER sent them to the courts after I REPEATEDLY called and emailed her office to find out the status. She even had the nerve to send me a bill when she failed to do her part as my attorney. On three occasions she s...ent me the wrong paper work after I emailed EXACTLY what I wanted in my case. I would NEVER recommend her!!

child support client

Ms. Rooks represented me a year ago in a modification of child support case in Fulton County. I was paying too much money. She got my child support cut by half. I had a recent set back with my job and lost a lot of money, she was able to file under some new statute that let me get my child support... lowered again. I had used another lawyer in clayton but he wasn't helpful and I ended up going to jail for child support. Ms. Rooks was worth her fees

Shana Rooks worked hard for me

Ms. Rooks just settled my case for $100,000.00. She got me the full policy limits that were available in my personal injury case. I thought she was knowledgeable and helpful.
