Agree! Do not hire!

Chris Brown did a great job at the start of my divorce then let paperwork sit on his desk for MONTHS. I called, emailed, and sent a certified letter. It was terrible. DO NOT HIRE. I, too, contracted the Georgia Bar to report him.

Find a different lawyer!

I wish I could give negative stars. He took a 5000 dollar retainer from me for my divorce and once i sent that money to him, i heard nothing about my case. I tried calling him repeatedly. No answer. No response. Everytime I sent him an email he charged me 30 to 100 dollars to read it. Not even a simp...le response. If I owed him money, he definitely called! DO NOT HIRE THIS GUY. Hire a lawyer who cares and will get results!

Gives lawyers a bad name.

I paid Christopher Brown a retainer fee of $1500 to represent me in a warrant hearing. He never returned numerous calls or emails. I sent him my court notice, he still didn't respond. I had no choice but to hire another attorney. I have reported him to the State Bar. Hopefully they will be able to ...help me get my money back.

Worse case scenario

This guy is horrible with communication. I had to call in order to get responses to old emails..and the responses wouldn't come from him. He didn't care about my case, but did take my money and put no effort towards my case. I would not recommend him..go elsewhere and get legal representation elsewhe...re. He talks a good game to get your money, but the follow through is awful. Most urgent communication came at the last minute - court appearances, documents needed, etc. There were documents that were received by him and never discussed with me that were presented at court. Changes and discrepancies I pointed out in legal documents were not addressed, but bypassed. In essence, do not waste your money hiring this guy.

Do yourself a favor and seek other counsel...

My experience was almost the same as the experience of the person that wrote "caution", literally, almost verbatim, except he hasn't signed papers without my knowledge that I'm aware of. He talks a great talk when you first sit down with him. He seems knowledgeable, confident in his abilities and eve...n seems to care. But that's the last you will hear from him other than to receive astronomical bills in the mail. After paying over $12,000 in legal fees I am left scrambling to find another attorney. I found out this week (from another attorney I'm interviewing) that we only have 6 months to get depositions once the guardian as litem (GAL) starts his investigation. We've had the guardian 4 months and not one client has been deposed. He has not advocated my case, nor has he even talked to the GAL on my behalf, despite 2 requests for him to do so. He has only returned 2 of my phone calls and I've yet to be able to have an appointment with him to discuss our case. And WHEN he responds to and email the responses he gives are one line answers. I have no idea where my case is. I feel completely in the dark. And truthfully, I think he's in the dark, as well. I have met with 2 other attorneys that tell me if I continue down the path I am on I will surely lose. I have come to realize just how true that is. He does have one talent though, clearly. He can keep up with the time he spends on your case at $300 an hour. Just don't expect results from it.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
