Biography
Born and raised in Jasper, Georgia, John Luke Weaver has a rich heritage in the North Georgia Mountains, with family roots dating back to the 1840s. He graduated Cum Laude from Berry College with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Government, where he was the President of his class and received the Voice of Berry Award for his advocacy. John Luke pursued his law degree at The University of Georgia, where he was an Executive Board member of the Mock Trial Team and founded the Rural Law Society to enhance legal access in rural Georgia. His hands-on experience includes prosecuting cases at the Cobb County Solicitor's Office and the Athens-Clarke County District Attorney's Office, where he was the first in his class to present a case before a jury. In addition to his legal career, he has coordinated political campaigns, interned for the Irish Government, and worked locally in heating and air. He currently serves as Vice-President of the Appalachian Bar Association and is involved with the Development Authority of Pickens County and the Chamber of Commerce. Outside of work, John Luke enjoys fishing, gardening, and spending quality time with his children.
