Excellent Lawyer

Sarah Cipperly is a very professional, dedicated and efficient lawyer. I hired her to help me with my divorce process. I had to travel overseas and still I felt that distance was not an obstacle to feel represented by her. Communication was constant. She also has and efficient team, whenever I needed... something her assistant Allison Pacheco was on top of it, she did a wonderful job keeping me posted with any updates in my case and prompt email responses. I highly recommend this firm.

Good attorney

Ms. Cipperly represented me with a family law case. I was given her contact information from a relative, and I met with her to discuss my case. When we first met, I was very nervous and Ms. Cipperly put my mind at ease very quickly. She listened patiently and provided excellent support and advice. ...I decided to hire her immediately. She was that supportive the entire time and she made me feel less stressed about my case. Ms. Cipperly wrapped up the case quicker than I thought she would and even reimbursed me some money that I paid in the retainer. Overall, I think her fees were extremely reasonable for the representation I got. I would highly recommend Ms. Cipperly to anyone who needs a family law attorney.

The worst attorney

I hired Cipperly for a TPO which was plain and simple stalking and harassing. He's already charged for felony stalking. This was a piece of cake. She charged full price, didn't show up on time, didn't want to discuss options but just to give in and back out. I refused to back out. She had evidence th...at she did not pull out, she had a witness she did not subpoena, there were documents she did not get from the clerk, she put my child on the stand after saying she will not, she said it is all her decisions since she is the attorney! I'm telling you she is like an admin assistant and a very scared one at that. All words to get clients and then she doesn't care anymore once shes received the money. She did not object when the attorney on the other side asked irrelevant questions of my child. She had nothing to say for the opening statement, she did limited cross examination and then when the judge asked her for a rebuttal right before the end of the hearing, she said there's no rebuttal!! Please save your money and hire another attorney. I tried to tell her, hey we need to do a rebuttal and you need to at minimum state the facts, she ignored me.

Buyer Beware! She treated my case as a volunteer (pro bono) case!

I hired Sarah to represent me in a Child Support Modification/Contempt case. I paid her a 3K retainer. Facts supporting her incompetence: Sarah discussed my case with an attorney who made calls to her on behalf of the defendant. That attorney had not been retained and thus, had not filed a Notice... of Appearance for the case. Sarah billed for each call. When I inquired of her maintaining client privileged information and vetting that attorney prior to discussing my case, she advised that she had to "field" the calls- and still bill me. Further, she requested to have us removed from the Judge's calendar to go straight to mediation at the request of the other attorney only to learn the day before the 1st hearing that the attorney had not be retained. Therefore, we'd need to appear in court for the hearing. Please note this attorney was practically a stranger to the case and Sarah was negotiating with her. During consultation I advised Sarah that we needed to pursue 3rd party discovery given past history in dealing with the defendant who's been proven to submit false documents to the court. At that time, I also advised that we needed to move expeditiously and shared the discovery which would be most beneficial to the case. She didn't request discovery until days before the 2nd hearing. 6 weeks had gone by since my initial advisement. When she requested discovery, she used a generic discovery template- not requesting any of the discovery we discussed. She appeared to court at the 1st & 2nd hearing completely unprepared. During the first hearing the def. showed up pro se so the judge allowed a continuance and advised Sarah to do what was necessary to get the hearing rescheduled. She proceeded to ask the Judge's staff attorney the proper protocol for the continuance?? At the 2nd hearing she did not realize that we were there to move for a temporary order. She didn't have any questions prepared to ask me or the def. She practically winged it and I was blind-sided on the stand. As the Judge heard other cases, Sarah left to write up 2 Child Support Worksheets based on a check stub from the Defendant, the only discovery that he provided that day. If I could upload some of the docs that she submitted to court with scratch outs, wrong case numbers, misspelled names, wrong dates and wrong case styles altogether, I would. They'd serve as a reflection of her detail to attention and lack of professionalism. As a result of my experience, I began to question her strategy with regard to the case. Prior to the second hearing she had only returned 1/4 of my calls/emails. Given her lack of response, I asked her what she thought was a good response time. She then volunteered to withdraw from the case stating that I didn't trust her judgement. She threatened me twice, drained the retainer then withdrew. 3K to her and the case hasn't even gone to mediation yet. Now 5K to a new attorney to do what Sarah should have. Please note that I take ownership in not doing my due diligence prior to hiring Sarah. While she is an attorney, she's not a true litigator and actually has very little experience litigating. Please see her LI Profile. She's been in an office performing administratively for the greater part of her career. Even now her primary focus is helping other attorneys get add'l tax breaks. She's not a true advocate for clients. In fact, here's the mission of her company (unrelated to : "The mission of The Pro Bono Solution is to provide consultant-based support and project management for law firms and in-house legal departments in their efforts to integrate pro bono and community service into their firm and company culture...As a lawyer in private practice with a long history of work in the public interest sector, and as a former director of pro bono programs and as a current volunteer lawyer, I understand the challenge of keeping a firm commitment while staying dedicated to your firm's mission and bottom line."

Outside of TPOs, Ms. Cipperly was opposing counsel on a divorce, that through diligent work on both sides, we settled to the emotional and financial desire and benefit of our clients.
