I consulted with Ms. Boga about representation on an employment matter with an approaching federal filing deadline, which she was aware of. During my initial conversations with her she was slow to ask and asked if I was also considering other attorneys. Later I felt that this was designed for her to ...evaluate desperation and use that to her advantage. I signed an agreement with another attorney, but then what that relationship ended, I reached back out to Ms. Boga as the federal deadline was approaching. She sent me a fee agreement, and at the same time I was sending her an email with specific questions about the contract, she separately sent a one-line email telling me to sign "today asap." She did not ask whether I had questions before pressuring me to sign. My replies to her were always prompt. My questions were about the contingency fee percentage, whether a retainer was required, and who would cover filing fees. Her written responses were short, riddled with typos, often incoherent, and designed to belittle me rather than clarify. She repeatedly stressed that time was short due to the holiday week and the filing deadline, creating a heightened sense of urgency. I suggested a call so that written words wouldn't be misinterpreted, something that she should have done as the attorney. I called to go over my remaining concerns before deciding whether to move forward. On that call, she consistently interrupted me, talked over me, and challenged the fact that I would dare to question her or the agreement. She asked directly whether I wanted her to represent me, and I told her no. Some more words were exchanged before the phone went silent on her end as I was talking. I followed up via email to say that I was reporting her to the Georgia Bar and that my correspondence with her was ended as of that email. I reminded her of her legal and ethical obligations with regard to the information I shared with her for my case. And rather than the conversation ending there, she sent a lengthy follow-up email, very poorly written, characterizing my questions as personal or emotional rather than being about the contract itself. She also described my planning to report her to the Georgia Bar as an attempt to "harm" her. Based on my experience, I would not recommend her and I am deeply concerned for those who might have been or might be represented by her.
