Molly Barrett Gillis represents individuals all over the State of Georgia. She represents victims of serious physical injury, wrongful death, trucking cases, insurance bad faith, premises liability and defamation. Molly also handles select administrative, traffic and criminal cases.
Molly started her legal career as a public servant. Over the course of her career, she has served as a prosecutor in two different circuits - the Cobb County Judicial Circuit and the Stone Mountain Judicial Circuit in DeKalb County. There, Molly gained invaluable trial experience prosecuting felonies, as well as misdemeanors. She tried over fifty cases to verdict, both in front of judges and juries. Recognized as a zealous advocate for victims and justice, Molly worked tirelessly to right wrongs and close painful chapters of victims’ lives.
Molly also practiced at one of the Southeast’s largest insurance defense firms under one of the nation's best and most recognized trial attorneys. There, she gained insight, knowledge and experience regarding how the insurance companies operate and litigate. This inside knowledge allows Molly to advise her current clients about what to expect, when to settle, and when to go to trial.
Molly previously served in an Of Counsel position for an Atlanta law firm that specializes in assisting law enforcement officers, as well as personal injury cases. Molly's experience in public service greatly assisted our fine men and women in law enforcement with any issues that arose.
Molly continues to have a heart of a public servant and believes that is a privilege to represent people who have been hurt, damaged, or wronged. She takes her role as an advocate seriously. She enjoys taking a limited number of cases per year so she can work closely with her clients.
Molly is married to Austin Gillis, Partner of Gillis Law Firm. The couple has two children, Emily and Jack. The family resides near the Marietta Square with their overactive black lab, Woody. Their philanthropic activities include Manos de Jesus mission in Guatemala, the University of Georgia, Oglethorpe University, the Extension, Live Safe Resources and St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
