Melanie Annette Prehodka

For the past 25 years, Melanie has dedicated her career as an attorney to family law. She is a partner with the law firm of Stearns-Montgomery & Proctor.

Melanie is a Louisiana native and obtained her undergraduate degree at Louisiana State University in 1993. She then attended Emory University School of Law and graduated with her law degree in 1996.

Melanie’s colleagues find her to be well organized, a great listener, detail-oriented with the ability to absorb large amounts of information and documentation then recast it in a way that tells a story that is clear and beneficial to the client. Clients also use such descriptors as tenacious, thorough, patient, empathetic and incredible in court. With her pedigreed resume, years of family law experience, and the best human and professional characteristics all melded into one tough advocate and concerned and caring counselor, it is no wonder Melanie has been recognized as a Superlawyer in the filed of family law for the last several years.

When Melanie is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband Doug and exploring the small towns and festivals of North Georgia. She is active in her church and enjoys cooking, kayaking, yoga, animals, breweries and unexpected adventures.
