Lance Drury Dutton

Lance has been practicing as an attorney since 2008.  In law school, Lance was Class-Vice President, won an opening statement competition to be selected to Trial Team, and was on Law Review where he won the award for most outstanding law review article.

Lance began his career as a public defender where he received extensive trial experience including handling over 20 jury trials where he won approximately 75% of his trials.  He transitioned into Family Law at a private law firm from 2011-2020 where he became a partner of that firm.  More importantly, this is where Lance met and formed the lasting friendship with Jenni and Tracy.  In January of 2020, Lance decided to leave the private law firm to reunite with Jenni.  The two founded Brown & Dutton law firm in August of 2020 before officially changing the firm name to Brown Dutton & Crider in January of 2022.

Lance has been described as tenacious, compassionate but most importantly honest with his clients by telling them what they need to hear versus what they want to only hear.  He enjoys complex or unique issues in family or criminal law cases as he enjoys legal research, thinking outside the box when needed and calculating marital balance sheets in divorces.

While not practicing law, Lance still plays tennis after playing in college and being a top ranked junior tennis player in North Carolina and Georgia.  He has recently begun taking some golf lessons and is still looking for his first round under 85.  While not playing sports, Lance enjoys time with his two rescue pups, Lucky and Foxy, who he found in the middle of the road when they were puppies and if you come by the office may find them running around on occasion.
