Jessica's dedication to criminal defense goes beyond her role in the courtroom. She’s a member of the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (GACDL) and serves on GACDL’s Amicus Committee where her legal expertise has been invaluable. Jessica was the primary author and researcher of GACDL's amicus brief in support of Attorney Brian Steel who represented Mr. Jeffrey Williams aka Young Thug in the YSL RICO trial. In 2023, Jessica was the primary author and researcher for 2 amicus briefs filed in the US Supreme Court re: McElrath v. Georgia challenging the Georgia Supreme Court's unprecedented ruling on double jeopardy. The US Supreme Court subsequently reversed the Georgia Supreme Court with a unanimous decision. She’s co-authored numerous briefs to the Georgia Supreme Court and Georgia's Court of Appeals on behalf of GACDL, advocating for justice and the protection of our constitutional rights. Jessica’s contributions to GACDL’s Amicus Committee reflect her unwavering commitment to criminal defense and the betterment of Georgia's legal system. She is also a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the DUI Defense Lawyers Association and the Cobb County Bar Association. 

Education and legal background:

Jessica graduated from Georgia Southern University with a Bachelor of Arts in History and a minor in Political Science. She earned her Juris Doctor from Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School and graduated from the Criminal Justice Program with distinction. During her first year of law school, Jessica began working as a law clerk for Attorney Greg Willis where she honed her skills in researching and briefing complex constitutional issues. While working as a law clerk, Jessica drafted numerous Petitions for Certiorari, Applications for Interlocutory Appeal and appellate briefs to the Georgia Supreme Court and Georgia’s Court of Appeals, and several legal memorandums to trial courts throughout the state.
