I originally approached Ms. Sturges with what was supposed to be an uncontested divorce, after almost three decades of marriage. After filing as the Petitioner, my wife retained an attorney and decided to contest - ignoring the fact we had already discussed a settlement, to which she had agreed ...to prior to my vacating the marital home. Ms. Sturges rolled with the change and was able to assist in finalizing an agreement which was 90% of what was agreed to originally. The process was smooth, in spite of opposing counsel being overly aggressive, and was completed in 8-months - which is not bad, when compared to many complicated contested divorces. As for fees, Ms. Sturges was extremely reasonable. She doesn't pad her bill with petty administrative fees for copies and in-office filing. What you actually pay for is strictly time spent by your attorney working on the case - nothing more, nothing less. With regard to her demeanor - Ms. Sturges listens well, asks pertinent questions, and is extremely easy to talk to regardless of how delicate the subject. She didn't pull any punches, telling me what I needed to hear - not necessarily what I wanted to hear. In dealing with opposing counsel, she was direct, professional, and maintained the best interests of her client in mind. In my opinion, you can't go wrong in retaining Lynn Sturges to handle your divorce.
