About Kyle
Biography
Most defense attorneys learn about the criminal justice system from a textbook. Kyle Epps
learned it from the inside out. Before he ever set foot in a courtroom as a lawyer, Kyle spent fourteen years in law
enforcement — walking the same streets, making the same arrests, and building the same
cases that he now challenges on behalf of his clients. He served as a SWAT operator, founded
the Cobb County Gang Unit, and trained hundreds of officers at the police academy. He has
stood on the arresting side of a DUI stop more times than he can count. He knows exactly what
those officers are looking for, what mistakes they make, and how to find them.
After law school — which he attended full time while working full time in law enforcement —
Kyle joined the Forsyth County Solicitor's Office, where he prosecuted misdemeanor criminal
cases. He learned how the other side builds its case, how prosecutors evaluate evidence, and
what makes them decide to fight versus fold. He has since served as Judge Pro Tempore in
Forsyth County Juvenile Court, appointed by the Chief Judge.
He has been on every side of the courtroom. Nobody in Forsyth County can say that.
Kyle has been a member of the Georgia Bar since 1996 and is admitted to the U.S. Court of
Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. He has spent the past 25 years in Forsyth County courtrooms,
building relationships with the judges, prosecutors, and court personnel who will decide the
outcome of your case. He knows the landscape because he helped build it.

More than a lawyer
