Most defense attorneys learn about the criminal justice system from a textbook. Kyle Epps
learned it from the inside out. Before he ever set foot in a courtroom as a lawyer, Kyle spent fourteen years in law
enforcement — walking the same streets, making the same arrests, and building the same
cases that he now challenges on behalf of his clients. He served as a SWAT operator, founded
the Cobb County Gang Unit, and trained hundreds of officers at the police academy. He has
stood on the arresting side of a DUI stop more times than he can count. He knows exactly what
those officers are looking for, what mistakes they make, and how to find them.
After law school — which he attended full time while working full time in law enforcement —
Kyle joined the Forsyth County Solicitor's Office, where he prosecuted misdemeanor criminal
cases. He learned how the other side builds its case, how prosecutors evaluate evidence, and
what makes them decide to fight versus fold. He has since served as Judge Pro Tempore in
Forsyth County Juvenile Court, appointed by the Chief Judge.
He has been on every side of the courtroom. Nobody in Forsyth County can say that.
Kyle has been a member of the Georgia Bar since 1996 and is admitted to the U.S. Court of
Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. He has spent the past 25 years in Forsyth County courtrooms,
building relationships with the judges, prosecutors, and court personnel who will decide the
outcome of your case. He knows the landscape because he helped build it.
When you hire The Epps Law Group, you are not hiring someone who read about criminal
defense in law school. You are hiring someone who lived it — as a cop, as a prosecutor, and
now as the person fighting for you.

Don't walk, RUN away from this lawyer!
If I could give less than a one star review I would. He was terribly unprofessional and unresponsive with regards to handling our case. If he couldn't do what we hired him to do, he shouldn't have taken our case. Instead, he took our retainer, and did absolutely nothing on our case. After waiting...

Don't Mistake Arrogance for Competence or Integrity -- Don't Hire for Cases out of Forsyth
Be careful mistaking arrogance for competence and integrity. He may have learned to maneuver his way in the Forsyth system (as I'm reading some reviews that seemed to be local) but he was completely out of his depth in Hall County. When he was (admittedly) unable to get anything accomplished, he drop...
We are sorry that we could not move your case as quickly as you required. We wish you luck with your new case and new counsel.
"I have worked as co-counsel with Kyle on a criminal matter in Juvenile Court. Kyle is well-versed in such matters having been a law enforcement officer before going to law school. Having this background enables him to be an effective criminal defense attorney because he has the knowledge and background necessary to understand and expose weaknesses in the prosecution's case. Kyle's no-nonsense approach earns him high marks among his peers. I endorse him and recommend his counsel to those seeking a criminal advocate."
"Kyle Epps is a dedicated advocate for his clients. He has worked with our firm on a civil matter and demonstrated a great understanding for the law. His experience as a former police officer and knowledge of police protocol is invaluable in criminal law. I whole-heartedly endorse this lawyer."
"I have had the pleasure to work with Kyle on various matters in Juvenile Court. I have also had the opportunity to observe him in Juvenile Court on cases when I was not involved. He is highly professional, prepared and advocates strongly for his client. Kyle also served as a pro hac vice Juvenile Judge on a few occasions, and in this position I felt that he was knowledgable of the law; fair and professional as well."
"I endorse this lawyer.I have known Kyle for over 10 years. I first met him when he prosecuted cases against me in Forsyth County. I also had the experience of dealing with him as a police officer. Kyle knows the law and knows how to deal with people. He is a skilled negotiator and does not stop until he gets the best result for his client. You cannot go wrong to hire Kyle on a criminal or civil matter. He has branched out to handle civil cases, and his dedication and tenacity will serve his clients well."
"Kyle is a wealth of knowledge when dealing with all types of cases, whether domestic, business, criminal or otherwise. It is life experience and his hunger for knowledge that places him far above the others in our field. If you are looking for a one stop shop (man) this is the guy to call."
"I endorse this lawyer.Kyl;e has incredible background as a police officer and former prosecutor. He is well versed in the law and any person who hires him will be well served."
