My goal is to assist clients in finding solutions to disputes that are effective and lasting. If you are looking to find a way to resolve your problem so that it is solved and there is no need of your having to come back to court again and again, this is the law firm for you.

Most people hope to never see an attorney’s office and certainly never want to see the inside of a courtroom. In my more than twenty-five years as a litigator, I have come to believe. that almost all disputes can be more effectively resolved outside the courtroom. Most problems have solutions that work and make sense if the parties are given the tools needed to find them. Alternative dispute resolution (ADR) problem solving techniques like collaborative law or mediation, allow parties to avoid the ongoing stress and escalating conflict that is a normal part of litigation.

Whether you are going through a divorce or involved in a contract dispute, this philosophy can work for you. Please click on the tab for Collaborative Law or Mediation and read how they work. I have extensive experience, training, and certification in both collaborative law and mediation.

Additionally, We are a Group Employee Benefits Provider.

MY LAW PRACTICE COVERS THE FOLLOWING AREAS:

Professional and Informative
I hired Kathryn 4 years ago and she has continued working diligently for my family and me throughout a very stressful divorce. Her professionalism and character shine through under pressure and her knowledge base exceeds expectations. She is an astute judge of character and her confidence in the courtroom is unmatched. I have and will continue to recommend her to friends and family and am so appreciative of her hard work.

Kathryn Hedden
Kathryn wrote a will for me after a friend died in her 50s without a will. The friend's family had a hard time finding all of her assets. Kathy thoroughly covered what documents I needed to insure that my wishes would be followed. She made suggestions about how to expedite the will. I would never have thought of all the documents I would need if it hadn't been for her guidance. Professional, empathetic, caring, and thorough are just a few of the adjectives I use when describing Her. I highly recommend her.

Amazing
I worked on a terrible divorce with Kathy for almost two years. The lengthy case was due to problems on his side, definitely not ours! She was so amazing at timeliness and organization among her many other talents! She is so detail oriented and did a fabulous job getting this nightmare handled. Highly recommend her services!

Outstanding Attorney
Kathy Hedden, has been my attorney for many years. She has always demonstrated her skills and compassion to help me and my mother who could be rather demanding at times. But Kathy always found ways to handle baffling situations. I would recommend Kathy to all of my friends and associates.

Knowledgeable & Supportive
At a time when I was at a cross road in my professional life I hired Kathryn for professional legal advice. I found that she quickly assessed the situation, and was able to suggest an action plan that I could follow. She was knowledgeable and supportive. The advice she provided and the plan she suggested were successful and I was able to confidently move forward with business. I'm so glad Kathryn is on my side!

Review of Kathryn N. Hedden
I have been working with Kathryn since January 2016 on a very difficult and stressful divorce. She has been such a blessing and has given me the best and most insightful, positive advice. I was referred to her by a friend who also used her for her divorce. I have had a great experience with Kathryn and her dedication and expertise is exceptional. I am very fortunate to have Kathryn represent myself and my children.

Kathryn Hedden review.
My family and I have had several occasion where we needed Kathryn's consult and I have personally hired her to deal with child custody etc. I have years of experience with other attorneys from Patent applications, Business matters and other personal matters and find her professionalism to be first class. She has always met her commitments and given me the true matters in any case. In addition, she always provides top notch service per our agreements and in a timely manner. Her court room mannerisms demonstrate that she is a true professional to the legal system. She may not tell you what you want to hear but it is always the facts and the outcome she states before hand materialize. Me, my family and friends count on Kathy when life throws you a curve ball. Well worth the investment for peace of mind.

Trusted Advisor
I've known and worked with Kathryn Hedden in various capacities for several years and recently required her legal services. She made the process simple and painless, walking me through each step. It was clear from her appearance in court that she is also well respected by others including the judge. She is a very competent professional who I would not hesitate to hire if needed.

Most Trusted insightful Attorney
Was thankfully personally referred to Kathy to defend against my ex-wife unwarranted legal effort to change the Parenting Plan of my Divorce Settlement Agreement. There were many consultations over each item over a year period. Kathy skillfully defended me in court with her strong sound legal skills and had the items dismissed. I wish i knew of her for my initial divorce as i found out that my then attorney while helpful Kathy would have done far more for me based on the insight shared. Secondly, i sought her advice and insights on how to protect my child further after she was a victim in a criminal molestation charge. With her insights procured a Temporary Protective Order (Restraining Order) to protect my other children who were not named victims but correctly needed protection from harm from the accused by the removal of his access to them. On other occasions have had legal emergencies and she is a trusted resource and friend. Such is her dedication to help that during one emergency issue she return my call from her vacation for advice and insights. She is also helping me with my will. I have on numerous occasions refered her to friends facing legal challenges and will continue to do so.

Very thorough, efficient and very supportive
I retained Kathy to begin a lengthy divorce case(I was told that it would be very complex by other attorneys with their consultation) last year and after explaining my situation and the fact that my spouse resided overseas, Kathy was able to assist me with advice and counsel every step of the way and honestly my divorce was done expeditiously as soon as my spouse was back stateside. The filing was in late August of 2016 and the final decree was the late January of 2017 (a date of my choosing to allow me to see the kids for the Holidays). As I already had some financial impediments before consulting with Kathy, she was able to work with me to determine my financial worksheet and the appropriate amount of support that each party is owed for the best situation for our children. Additionally Kathy was able to go to the Courthouse on the day of the hearing and we were actually the first case due to her proficiency with the documentation, filing and presentation. In the end I was able to finally breathe a sigh of relief from this, my co-parent and I have a mutually agreed upon parenting plan and Kathy was very diligent with contacting the co-parent and explaining the documentation that was sent. As a result of all of this, I have retained Kathy for a legitimization and custody case as I feel that she is the best among many lawyers in Cumming and provided me with great service. Personal note from the heart: If you are a spouse that is in a situation where you are considering divorce or meditation or are a Father that truly wants to be in his children's lives without the burden of "playing the game" with the children's mother...please do yourself a favor and contact Kathy. Trust me the nights of tossing and turning and nightmares stemming from feeling helpless and unable to protect or provide for your kids will subside once things get started with her. We all have our own situations in life and not many are good, but I truly feel that Kathy helped addressed the best course for me and my children while respecting my circumstances and both parties. -Paul

You can't go wrong.
I will be eternally grateful to Kathy for all that she did to help me resolve a five year long divorce case and custody battle. She gave me a lot of excellent advice on how to handle my ex and what battles to fight. To say it was contentious would be an understatement. Her experience within the Forsyth County judicial system, Family Haven and her time spent serving as a guardian ad litem were instrumental in crafting a parenting plan to meet my son's needs. Additionally, she is a real pleasure to be around so I know that the process could have been more painful than it was. Kathy has also helped me with drafting medical poa's and wills, not to mention my deadbeat renters, so I appreciate the extent of her assistance. She is worth every dollar I have paid her and I have no regrets about the outcome of my divorce.

Poor courtroom performance
I retained Kathryn Heddon for a custody dispute. I spent a lot of money. It hinestly felt like she was working for the other side. She has a very poor courtroom performance and actually admitted to me that she was "scared of the other attorney and to work things out outside of the courtroom". I was embarrased that she did not fight for me when she knew the situation. She also asked me to go see a specific psychologist again that my son and I had been seeing "because she had been trying to get in with them forever". I later asked her to represent me in a RO filed by my ex. Verbatim, she replied "Ok, if you agree to let your son go live with his Dad because he has wanting to for a long time". I was very disapointed in her work ethics. I also had to other attorneys approcah me and say that she was talking bad about me.
