Jenny L. Barwick

Jenny attended the University of South Carolina for both undergraduate (class of 2004) and law school (class of 2007). Upon graduation from law school, Jenny completed a one-year circuit court judicial clerkship in Greenville with the Honorable John C. Few, who is a current South Carolina Supreme Court Justice. Jenny also assisted Justice Few in teaching the rules of evidence and its many intricacies to law students.

After her clerkship, Jenny was an assistant solicitor at the 13th Circuit Solicitor’s Office for several years, in both the Pickens and Greenville offices (2008-2013). During this time, Jenny prosecuted hundreds of cases and wide-range of charges, including taking several to trial every year, which included charges for driving under the influence (DUI), drug law violations, domestic violence, assault and battery, traffic offenses, theft, burglary, armed robbery, child abuse/neglect, child sexual abuse, and murder. Because a significant part of her case-load involved child abuse cases, Jenny worked closely and in cooperation with the Department of Social Services (DSS). Many of Jenny’s trials included expert witnesses, complex legal issues, multiple defendants, and multiple victims.

In 2013, Jenny founded her own firm, practicing primarily in the areas of family law (divorce, child custody, child support, termination of parental rights, adoption, DSS accusations, etc.), criminal defense, driving under the influence charges (DUI), and Guardian ad Litem appointments. Jenny also represented several victims of crime, acting as their liaison with the criminal justice system through the investigation and prosecution of the suspects. 

Jenny was the City Attorney and Prosecutor for the City of Liberty from 2013 through 2016. 

In 2016, Jenny joined the law firm of Clawson and Staubes, LLC where she founded the firm's family law practice area and the firm's criminal defense practice area. In 2022, Jenny was named partner.

In 2023, Jenny formed The Barwick Law Firm, LLC, where she continues to zealously advocate for her clients in the areas of family law and criminal defense, doing so in a professional and thorough manner that is specifically tailored to her clients' goals and needs. 

Jenny is a member of the Haynsworth-Perry Chapter of the American Inns of Court and the Greenville Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.  Jenny was elected President of the Greenville Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (GACDL) in 2018 and served through 2020.
