Jennifer May Shafer

Jennifer is an Associate attorney in the Saxton & Stump Family Law and Commercial Litigation groups. In her family law experience, she’s represented clients in a variety of matters including:

• Pre- and post-judgment custody disputes, divorce and separation
• Termination of parental rights
• Paternity
• Rule to show cause enforcement matters, both defending and petitioning

Jennifer drafts all pleadings and motions for timely filing with the court and attends court proceedings. In addition, she educates, counsels, and empowers clients to make informed decisions in connection with their cases based upon realistic risk-benefit analysis and application of the law to unique circumstances. She prides herself on communicating with clients throughout every step of their case, discussing case strategy, answering questions effectively, and preparing clients and witnesses for court hearings, as well as negotiates with opposing counsel to facilitate amicable resolution when possible.

Before changing career paths to law, she owned and operated a successful wine bar and restaurant in Flagstaff, AZ. In her business, she negotiated contracts with vendors, reviewed budgets, and analyzed expenses. She also obtained and maintained proper licensing with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies and managed staff recruitment, interviewing, hiring, training, scheduling and performance evaluations.
