After obtaining his Bachelor of Civil Engineering from Vanderbilt University, James Reynolds Danko started his career in Atlanta, Georgia working for an international general contractor and architectural firm. He worked as a project engineer providing construction management services for major new construction and renovation projects. He continued his education by obtaining his Master of Science in Building Construction from Georgia Tech. Through practical work experience and formal education he was able to develop a keen understanding of the principles and processes involved in building design and construction. It was also here that he developed an appreciation for the pervasiveness of law and the ability to resolve complex disputes. This appreciation for the law and dispute resolution led James to pursue his career in law.
James chose to broaden his exposure and leverage his education and experience by attending law school at Santa Clara University in California. James continued to gain knowledge and credentials by utilizing his construction background to become a licensed general contractor, construction manager, residential builder, and home inspector. After being away for over a decade, James returned to his home state of South Carolina thoroughly prepared to practice Law.
