After graduating from Winthrop College in 1985, Robert Masella went on to become a key member of the business world. It was here that he excelled substantially, rising to the role of a top producer at a Fortune 100 Company. After his success in the business world he went on to pursue a career in the practice of law, attending the University of South Carolina School. After graduating, he served the now Supreme Court of South Carolina Justice Kaye G. Hearn as a law clerk. He then went on to the Richland County Solicitor’s Office where handled prosecution cases for misdemeanors and felonies. He has now been practicing law for more than 20 years and has continued to develop his skill in this field. He is able to offer his clients exceptional representation in matters of personal injury, workers’ compensation, criminal defense and family law. Super Lawyer for Military Families
If I could double the 5 star rating, I would! I cannot say enough good things about Bob Masella and his Paralegal Eagles. From the moment I met them, they all took me in as family. I am an active duty servicemember and had a very complicated and highly disputed custody case. Bob's experience and know...

Very Pleased Parent!
Our recent experience with The Masella Law Firm was fantastic. Everyone in Mr. Masella's office was very professional and more importantly, caring, friendly, and genuinely concerned about giving us the best legal advice possible. My family would not hesitate to call this firm again. Highly recommende...

Excellent attorney
I first met Bob about a possible divorce, having already met with several attorneys. I was most struck by his genuine nature and open sincerity. He was the first attorney to listen and offer personal insights, instead of jumping straight to the legal strategy he would use for my case. Bob was always ...

Funny Sense of Humor and can't respect time
I had a 4:00 pm appointment ( paid consultation ) with Robert Masella on 22nd April. I reached his office at 3:45 pm , filled out the paperwork and was ready by 3:55 ...he came to meet me at 4:20 pm ..some one tell him the meaning of appointment and respecting other people's time. While I was exp...
This person showed up the day after their scheduled appointment. When he came to my office I was in court with another client. I returned to my office as quickly as I could to speak with this man. While he and I were talking about his situation, I learned he was represented by another attorney. I explained that our ethical code prohibited me from speaking with him about his case if he already had counsel. I explained the procedure he needed to follow if he wanted us to help him, and I also assured him he was in good hands with the attorney he already had. He was apparently seeing me because he was second guessing his current counsel which again causes us problems because I am sure he is the type of person who will go back to his attorney and tell them they are wrong and this is what I learned you need to do. This man had a lot of issues other than his custody matters. He wanted to change a California divorce decree and change custody of his minor child from the child’s mother to him here in South Carolina. He was trying to change his agreement from California because he did not like how things were working for him. This firm is extremely careful about handling delicate situations, including those involving children. This man was apparently very abusive to his former spouse and expected her and all around him to do as he said. When we told him we were prohibited from helping him until he followed the necessary procedures he stormed out of our office telling us he would be sure to let us know what he thought of our ethics. Unfortunately, although we have been able to accomplish a lot of good results for most of our clients, we cannot help everyone accomplish their goals; especially those who want to throw ethics to the wind and do whatever they want to force others to do what they want. I feel sorry for him as well as his son and ex-spouse. Please take this person’s review for what it’s worth. Please read all of our other client reviews that have been left to see the good work we have accomplished for them. We are proud to assist those who entrust us with the issues that impact their lives and we will be honored to assist you with your legal needs.

Excellent service for our college student!
When our college student found himself in need of an attorney we looked around and found a few attorneys that were less expensive, but we were very happy that we chose Bob Masella. His knowledge and expertise were invaluable and his office did an excellent job of keeping us informed since we live out...
