Jane Dearwester began her career as a real estate closing attorney. She spent her early years helping people close on the purchase of their homes and property. At some point, by necessity, her passion changed from helping ensure the sales of property, to helping people protect their property through financial crisis brought on by national recession.
Jane’s consumer protection practice revolves around helping people maintain their property through defense of foreclosure actions, exposing fraudulent banking and finance practices and loan modification. The loss mitigation portion of that practice includes negotiation of short sales and deeds in lieu of foreclosure, as well as other consumer financial matters that fall under the governance of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), the Truth in Lending Act (TILA), the Fair Credit Billing Act, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, the Identity Theft and Assumption Deterrence Act (ITADA), and the Credit Card Accountability, Responsibility and Disclosure Act (CARD Act). Each of these laws govern credit, debt and product performance in favor of protecting consumers of at the federal level.
Jane is passionate about helping her clients overcome financial strife. She is a dauntless advocate for the best outcome possible to meet her client’s future goals. Unveiling the wrong action of financial institutions to the benefit of the people they mistreat is her favorite success.

This attorney mishandled funds regarding several closings and cases and took a lot of my money and used it to pay other clients bills.

I've worked with Jane many, many times on real estate transactions and she has always been professional and efficient. I highly recommend her for anyone doing real estate closings.

Paid $250 Consultation regarding saving home. Told me all the great miraculous things she could do and for a hefty retainer. Never once did she say the statute of limitations had long ran out. She just continued to brag that she worked for the foreclosing firm and had contacts and could handle the...
"With over a decade of experience, coming from a great law school and running her own law firm, one look at her web site and you will see that Attorney Sobleski knows the law and likes to make sure her clients know it too. She can handle other areas of Consumer Law too. If you have a Consumer Law question, she is your answer. If her office is anywhere near you, call her about your lemon vehicle or any question about the law. I recommend her to you - not because she is from my home state (but she is) - but I recommend her because she cares, she is smart, and she is good. And if you are a consumer and you need help, she's exactly the kind of lawyer you want."

Suspension with Part Stayed issued in NC, 2016

“My North Carolina law license was temporarily suspended for failure to properly reconcile my law firm trust account and other irregularities. Under mutually agreeable terms, I surrendered my law license in August 2016 and was reinstated in May 2017. Infractions against the Rules of Professional Conduct are serious, even when administrative and not impacting clients, as mine was. I am no longer tasked with financial management of any kind.”
