also known as James P. Mattox
I grew up in Statesville, NC, attended UNC-Chapel Hill and then, because I knew that I wanted to return to Statesville to practice law, I spent three years in Los Angles, CA while attending Pepperdine University School of Law. I believe this experience broadened my horizons.
I have practiced law in Statesville since 1983. I have helped thousands of people with traffic and criminal offenses, including DWI's. I represent people injured in auto accidents and at work against big insurance companies as well.
While I do not handle contested domestic cases, I do handle uncontested divorces. I also handle wills and estate matters and basic incorporation work.
I am married to April E. Mattox and I have three children, Marett, Taylor and Davidson Pressly. My athletic interests through the years included high school football (Go Greyhounds!!), bicycle racing and ice hockey. Currently, I enjoy resistance training, yoga and I am an avid golfer.

Spot on service
Mr. Mattox welcomed me into the office with no waiting, was open early in the morning so I could come by to see him. Cleared my traffic ticket the next day for less than the surrounding attorneys. I like this guy if I need a lawyer again I'll call mr Mattox. And he's easy to find right on the corner ...
