Biography
- The Golden Rule. We can do unto others as we would have them do unto us without sacrificing the zealous representation of our clients. We can mean to win without being mean to win.
- “No More, No Less.” We will work as hard as needed for each client, without adding needless work just to raise fees. Our mantra is not “Bill, bill, bill” but rather “Serve, serve, serve.”
- Justice is Blind. We will work for the best resolution for each individual client, regardless of his or her income, race, gender, lifestyle, class, or familiarity with the legal system.
- Raise the Bar. The ethics rules set out by the State Bar are just a minimum guideline for the proper treatment of clients, adversarial counsel, the community, and the courts.
- Discourage Litigation. Abraham Lincoln’s advice still holds true today: “Discourage litigation. Persuade your neighbors to compromise whenever you can. As a peacemaker, the lawyer has a superior opportunity of being a good man. There will still be business enough.”
- Practice. It’s called the “practice” of law because we hope to improve our service every day.
- Balance. We advise our clients in a way that balances their desires with their needs and the realities of the justice system.
- Perspective. Your legal matter may be the most important matter in your life today, despite the fact that we handle hundreds of clients a year.
- Quality of Life. Our goal is to help the client in all ways to live a better life. Health, family, and general well-being come first. We don’t live to work and neither should the client.
- Community. We support the community, particularly in the arts, because it is the right thing to do.
