Unprofessional

Beware of this attorney. She will take money and lie. I attempted to see why she was just ignoring my needs and did not seem to want to do any paperwork at all. It did not seem right that she did not have my child’s interest in mind so I asked questions; questions she never answered for me. She woul...d take calls after I would call her several times over and over. I called when I saw she was in the office and I saw her put the phone down while I was talking to her . And just walk away. It is a horrible feeling to give someone the last dime you have to try and save your son and they use you.

Disappointed in Eastern NC

My experience may have been an anonmoly. But would say run the other way. Ms. Ferrier, initially shows compassion towards her clients and expresses confidence and is quick to profess execptional abilities and skills. What I found during the progress, or lack there of, that she is unorganized, unprod...uctive with hours of performance, untimely in her filings of required documents. I routinely had to complete my own documents, sometimes even create the complete filings or responses from a template that she would send. When I received the final documents, she made little if any changes. It seemed her greatest effort was to sign them. On several occassions she never file initial or response documents at all. I constantly had to stay on top of submission items and dates after she missed several at the beginning of the process, always due to personal issues or staffing problems. I would even have to drive to me her to pick up the documents and go to courthouse file and pay for them myself. She had extraordinary staff turnover, professing serval times that they were stealing and sending client information to opponent lawyers. I had to get a new lawyer and then she billed me an additional $4,000 for services after paying an initial $6500. Ms. Ferrier, although intelligent, seemingly is challenged with responsible behaviors to her clients. She is not respected by Judges courtroom personnel, and local lawyers. She is maybe a great rrpresentative for uncontested divorces, or custody...but in my case she was a poor performer and I changed lawyers in just the nick of time. Good Luck.

Very Unprofessional

I was in a scary situation and needed a divorce and child custody taken care of. She seemed knowledgeable enough, so I paid the fee. Her office staff was incredibly rude, unprofessional, and most of the time had no clue about anything concerning my case when I would call. Instead, I had to physically... come in for answers. She changed out office staff (completely) 2 or 3 times while I was her client, so that increased the confusion. At one point, I called to ask a question, and they said (1) I had court the next day, but they forgot to tell me, and (2) that they had told Ms. Ferrier that I had reconciled with my ex, which I have no idea where that came from. I had to drop everything and get to court the next morning to find her and tell her myself that this was some mistake. She often took vacations and would put off paperwork, unless I showed up and did it myself, and she told me to call her staff while she was gone and tell them to do their job, finish my paperwork, or I would call her cell phone (which was an empty threat, since I didn't have her number), but I did not do that, because I did not feel comfortable. When the year separation was up, and my divorce was finally allowed to be proceeded with, I paid the fee again. There was no additional things done, she did not extra work, in fact she did less because I ended up mediating with my ex and ending the whole thing with a signature. In fact, when it came to the mediation, and custody agreement, being someone who is extremely unfamiliar with type of situation, I asked for her help in writing it up, (What are the states usual visitation, depending on age, etc) and she said "Whatever you want, there is no normal," and that's all she would give me. Unfortunately, right after it was finalized, I got a bill for $98. I didn't ask for anything extra, extra time, extra work, extra anything. I called and asked what it was for, and cannot get a response, and now, a year later, I have received a bill that says I owe her over $300, (for what??) and they will sue in a week. Throughout the course of that year of having her as my attorney, I was told countless times that I should do something about her being unprofessional, however, it was hard enough getting anything done, and I was on a time constraint, and I was afraid of complaining and then her not getting anything done at all. Please do NOT waste your money. Don't make the same mistake I made. I am not stuck with an incredibly vague custody agreement, and a huge bill for nothing.

Great attorney for custody and divorce

I hired Mrs.Ferrier almost a year ago for custody of my son it was a long hard process and mrs.ferrier helped me with everything from child support, custody, and absolute divorce. She was very knowledgable and knew exactly what needed to be done. She helped me with my situation going above and beyond... to make sure everything was completed fast, quick, and right. When I called 90% of the time she answered if she didn't i would get a call no later then about 2 hours after I contacted her. I definitely recommend her to anyone in the military, she knows all the rules and dosent let anything negative effect her clients. It can be a time consuming process but in the end I owe everything to her for fighting for the most important person in my life, my son thank you Kimberly.

very helpful!

I hired Kimberly after I got Child support papers served against me. The support I was being charged was not right because of how often I actually had my children. Kimberly got my support reduced and helped straighten out my Custudy. I don't know what I would of done without her! I would strongly rec...ommend Her!
