Unstable and should not practice law

This women has some serious mental health issues and absolutely should not be able to practice law. She needs professional help. Multiple personalities, EXTREME paranoia, and outright insanity.

Unprofessional

Beware of this attorney. She will take money and lie. I attempted to see why she was just ignoring my needs and did not seem to want to do any paperwork at all. It did not seem right that she did not have my child’s interest in mind so I asked questions; questions she never answered for me. She woul...d take calls after I would call her several times over and over. I called when I saw she was in the office and I saw her put the phone down while I was talking to her . And just walk away. It is a horrible feeling to give someone the last dime you have to try and save your son and they use you.

Divorce/Custody

I hired Mrs Ferried to take care of my custody and divorce in Feb 2014. She was quick to get a temporary full custody order for me but it took over a year for me to Finnaly get permanent custody of my son when the other party(his mother) wasn't even fighting for rights. But i gained permanent custody... and im happy about that. The main issue I have is the fact that i laid for a Divorce and it never happend, my ex is in Florida and couldnt be found so i understand if that took some time but not 3 years. Then last winter I get a letter stating Mrs Ferried has been disabled and no longer working as an attorney on my case. I had to drive to another lawyers office to pick up my case files. I paid for a divorce and never got one. I'm out like $680 ill never see again so I now have to hire another attorney to finish the job.

Disappointed in Eastern NC

My experience may have been an anonmoly. But would say run the other way. Ms. Ferrier, initially shows compassion towards her clients and expresses confidence and is quick to profess execptional abilities and skills. What I found during the progress, or lack there of, that she is unorganized, unprod...uctive with hours of performance, untimely in her filings of required documents. I routinely had to complete my own documents, sometimes even create the complete filings or responses from a template that she would send. When I received the final documents, she made little if any changes. It seemed her greatest effort was to sign them. On several occassions she never file initial or response documents at all. I constantly had to stay on top of submission items and dates after she missed several at the beginning of the process, always due to personal issues or staffing problems. I would even have to drive to me her to pick up the documents and go to courthouse file and pay for them myself. She had extraordinary staff turnover, professing serval times that they were stealing and sending client information to opponent lawyers. I had to get a new lawyer and then she billed me an additional $4,000 for services after paying an initial $6500. Ms. Ferrier, although intelligent, seemingly is challenged with responsible behaviors to her clients. She is not respected by Judges courtroom personnel, and local lawyers. She is maybe a great rrpresentative for uncontested divorces, or custody...but in my case she was a poor performer and I changed lawyers in just the nick of time. Good Luck.

Terrible experience

I met with Ms. Ferrier and let her know what my situation was. She was very reassuring at first and gave me a ‘flat fee’ that she said she charged whether a divorce was uncontested or not. Once I had been filed against I paid her the fee and assumed that she was going to begin working for me. From... day one, the entire thing was just her responding to the other party. She let the other attorney run the show. When I tried to call or sent emails with documentation, response was very slow or not at all. Her office staff was very unprofessional and looked like they had been hired off the drug offender list. Long after the process started she had not asked for any discovery from the other attorney and I finally asked to see her so I could get an idea of what was going on she let me vent about the situation then charged me and still didn’t clarify what the plan was. I had concrete evidence that my ex was attempting to hide assets and she blew it off and never followed up. The situation dragged on and I started getting bills for more money and we hadn’t even done anything yet. I had begun to look for another attorney and was willing to spend more money and I had to threaten to fire her in order to get any concrete answers out of her and then my ex and I figured out our property division on our own so we basically did her job for her, although had she done her job right from the beginning I would probably have gotten quite a bit more. In the end I would have spent more trying to get another attorney and time in court. She also never did the paperwork to change my name even though I asked her to do so from the beginning. I did not feel that she represented my interests at all or that she was working for me and was considering making a complaint against her. She caused me more stress and distress than the actual divorce which should NEVER be the case.
