Christopher Bryan Venters

Absolutely the most incompetent attorney I've met. I was in a fender bender in January 2019, had an eyewitness police officer write a citation to the person who hit me, but need to go to trial or reach a settlement due to the peculiar laws of North Carolina. It's a simple and straightforward civil... case. I've paid Chris approximately $9K in attorney fees since February 2019 and the only thing he's completed was a discovery and deposition. No settlement or trial date yet. He has a habitual trend to be paid then disappear for months at a time. Chris rarely returns your phone calls and instead hides behind his emails and texts. He gives excuses for his incompetence (his divorce, incompetent paralegal, and Grandmother's death were his excuses to me). After nearly a dozen phone calls and voicemails that I've left him over a two month period, he finally calls me back. He refuses to answer my question of how many civil cases he's won in Craven County, NC and I suspect that number is zero. Instead of taking responsibility he spends more of my time and money arguing with me than for me. He called me a "bully" for reprimanding him for his incompetence. I literally laughed out loud that a grown man did that. Don't ever hire! He'll be added on my will as a pallbearer at my funeral so he can let me down one last time-)

I consulted with Mr. Venters on a matter involving a major car rental company and the false accusation levied against me by the company. Mr. Venters gave me an enormous amount of insight into the insurance industry of which I was unaware. He reviewed documentation and two letters I prepared: one... to executive management at the car rental company & one to the NC DOJ Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division. Mr. Venters felt the two letters combined put me on the right track with how to confront and dispute the false accusation. Before I met with Mr. Venters I felt unsure and lacked confidence in understanding if the approach I was taking was enough. Mr. Venters' counsel, expertise, guidance, perspective and input were invaluable. He explained how the insurance industry works and what part the car rental industry plays in it. I am most grateful to Mr. Venters for his undivided attention and the feeling of support I felt after meeting with him. Within less than two weeks after meeting with Mr. Venters, I received an email from the car rental company confirming that the case was closed. Had the matter "not" been resolved in my favor, I would have retained Mr. Venters as counsel in order to pursue legal action against the car rental company and continue to fight the false accusation. Mr. Venters is very approachable and was genuinely engaged in the discussion we had during my consultation. I simply cannot thank Mr. Venters enough for everything I learned not only about the insurance industry but about the entire matter.

I scheduled an appointment at Stubbs and Perdue in New Bern. After many months of struggling, due to a financially draining divorce, I wanted to find out more about filing bankruptcy. Mr. Venters was assigned to my case and conducted my first consultation. Chris was professional, knowledgeable, and a...dequately explained the bankruptcy process to me. All of my questions were answered at the first session and I left with a plan to alleviate some of the financial stress that I had been under. I own a home and two vehicles so I was extremely hesitant. Chris was able to explain exactly what would happen to my property. Chris was patient while I overcame some obstacles and had to postpone filing my case. Once I was able to proceed, Chris was efficient, he provided all the paperwork and instructions on how to fill it out, and he helped me verify all of the information was correct before he filed. He responded quickly to any and all questions I had throughout the process and his assistants were extremely helpful as well. Chris made sure I was fully prepared for my court date and the outcome was exactly what he predicted (and what I needed). I would highly recommend him if you find yourself in a financial predicament and want to know what options are available to you. The fees were reasonable and the information Chris provided will help me prevent future financial issues.

I spoke with Mr. Venters by phone with some questions I had concerning completion of the application for Social Security Disability. Mr. Venters was polite and patient with me with my questions. He was very knowledgeable and helpful. I was approved for disability through my job but when I have to... pursue disability with the federal government I will be contacting Mr. Venters for his help.
