My practice concentrates in the area of family law.  Since 2012 I have been a North Carolina Board Certified Specialist in Family Law.  I primarily handle cases in Eastern North Carolina, and am prepared to handle them related to settlement, trial and appeal if necessary.  I welcome consultations with clients to consider and address their family law questions.  Our office strives to provide excellent legal representation through close work with our clients.  We are also able to resolve matters prior to lawsuits being filed, through the use of separation agreements, and settlement negotiations with adverse parties and/or their attorneys.  In regard to equitable distribution matters, our office has been involved in many complex cases involving varied business interests, property interests, and assorted business entities.  We strive to reach the most favorable outcome for our clients under the particular facts of each case.

Highly Recommended Professional
Sundee Stephenson is dedicated to her duty to serve her client’s best interest. Constant communication and keeping the client updated on the progress is especially important to Sundee. While being professional and courteous, she works hard to get the matter resolved quickly and efficiently. Sundee offers sound advice and counseling on all family matters and delivers it in a respectful manner. Sundee’s expertise in family relationships began while serving as a social worker at Dorothea Dix Hospital for several years. After working in the pre-trial unit, she decided to attend law school and later represented the Carteret County Department of Social Services in juvenile court cases. Sundee has done exceptional work for the community and was inducted into The National Advocates Top 100 Lawyers of Matrimonial and Family Law in 2016. Mrs. Stephenson is an outstanding lawyer. My case has been very difficult at best but Mrs. Stephenson has taken every measure to ensure the safety of my child is first and foremost. She has been there for me whenever I've needed her advice and she continues to be. I highly recommend Mrs. Stephenson for any Family Law matters. She and her staff are top notch.

Divorce
Ms. Stephenson handled my petition for divorce. I had been married for sixteen years, with two children from that union. It was very difficult endeavor, with treacherous extenuating circumstances. Through it all Ms. Stephenson remained in control, calm, comforting, strong, and tireless. She was ever compassionate without sacrificing her professionalism. If not for her endurance and confidence in our stance I would have had nothing. I am finally at peace and happy. I am forever grateful to her.

Not only an amazing lawyer but an amazing person!
Ms. Stevenson Is an amazing attorney. She is very smart very understanding and very compassionate. My situation involved three children one who had to testify. She advocated for all of my children and made sure that my child was treated with respect and dignity. She did everything in her power to try to get justice for my children. Ms. Stevenson went above and beyond what I expected! I hope I never need her services again but if I ever did I would not hesitate to hire her!

Honesty,integrity and committed
Sundee Stephenson im my opinion is one of the most honrable attorneys I have ever been in contact with. She is honest and dependable and always carries herself with dignity in the courtroom. She never did anything I thought was questionable and even when the truth might have damaged my case she expected nothing less than complete honesty. I witnessed first hand the respect that she received from her peers and also from the judges and after working with her over the past two years I understand why she is so well respected. My case was to say the least a difficult one and she saw it all the way through when most attorneys would have given up. She has earned my respect and I would highly recommend her.

Best In Carteret County For Family Law
Sundee Stephenson is the best family law attorney you are going to find in Carteret County. Her prices are in line with other attorneys in the county, and she is extremely prompt in answering any and all questions I had about my case. Sundee handled my family law matter in such a way that maintained the best interest of the child AND both parents.
