also known as E. Stewart Poisson
When it comes to workers' compensation or personal injury cases, sometimes the law is the easy part of the equation. What sets me apart is my ability to take my knowledge of the law and partner it with my practical experience to explain to my clients how their case will be best handled to achieve the outcome they desire. Whether my clients are sophisticated or unsophisticated, educated or uneducated, knowledgable or completely new to it all, they are able to benefit from my experience in the courtroom and outside of it. I have handled workers' compensation cases at all levels of the court, including hearings and appeals in the Industrial Commission and also at the North Carolina Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of North Carolina. I teach other attorneys throughout the state on various workers' compensation topics. I jsut completed a year of being the Chair of the Workers' Rights Section of the NC Advocates for Justice.
I also handle personal injury cases and have tried many jury trials. I have handled multiple personal injury appeals at the North Carolina Court of Appeals. I particularly enjoy helping people who have been injured at work and have a third party claim against a person from outside of their company who negligently injured them. There are not many attorneys who personally handle personal injury claims and workers' copmensation claims and do both well, and I pride myself on being able to handle both type of claims for my clients so that they get they are able to maximime their outcomes in both claims.
I love what I do, and I love helping people.
