Stay Away From This SCHMUCK!!!

DO NOT hire this law firm. The attorneys are unorganized, unprofessional, and will NOT work for you. They are inept at their job and will take your money. You WILL NOT get results. I hired them for a divorce involving custody. I drove to Fayetteville,NC from Baltimore, MD for a pre court meeting. ...I gave Greg Illikainen information on 2 DUIs that my son’s mother had been invilved in, both only 7 months apart, and the 2nd one with my then 5 yo son in the car with her. I also gave Greg Illikainen information of an ongoing Social Services CPS investigation about the environment my son was living in. His mother and her boyfriend were ALWAYS drunk, and were verbally and physically abusing each other in front of him. I later found out that Social Services were highly concerned for my son’s safety, but before they could get my son out of there, his mother and her boyfriend moved away. When I drove down a 2nd time for the Temporary Custody hearing, Greg failed to bring any of his notes from our pre court meeting, he had not gotten any of the arrest documents, and had not contacted Social Services to subpoena the investigation file. This is just the beginning and I could go on about the incompetence of Greg Illikainen. The only regret I have is that I did not present all of the evidence to the North Carolina Bar Association, but still might. DO NOT hire this pathetic excuse for a lawyer. You WILL regret it in the end!!!

Undecided- Pending

My husband was represebted by him and in the end he still has charges left and the communication was none by him but his secretary was amazing at communicating with me and tending to our needs asap. Would i hire him again, no. I give him credit for the deal he got but still pending charges.

Stay away

Took thousands of dollars from me and I got nothing in return when they came to my custody case. My daughters mother even said my lawyer was a joke

Lost money

Hired for child support and custody. Continues to ask for money but no results and keeps pushing dates back. Does not follow through nor communicate and has not done anything for thousands of dollars. A half paragraph email costs hundreds everytime an email is sent. 6 months later and $5 lost. Now i... have no choice but to go along with the other parties demands

WOULD NOT RECCOMEND

I was very unhappy with Mr Illikainen from the start. I explained my case and position to him and he seemed not to really care at all. With such a quick turn around for my court hearing of domestic violence, I did not have any other options. There were charges against myself and my x for this case. I... called the police on her, they came out and were going to arrest her, but I didn't want to press charges. The next day she pressed charges against me. It was part of his job to get the full police report with the narrative from the officers, and subpoena them to be at court. Since he didn't care or DO HIS JOB, he failed to get these things. Both him, and her lawyer suggested we drop both charges, stating that it's best for my career. So I dropped it. But I didn't do anything to begin with, and that police report would have shown that. I was pissed off about the whole thing to begin with. And I would never use or suggest anyone use Mr Illikainen in the future.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
