also known as Mehta & McConnell, PLLC
Jason C. McConnell was born and raised on his family's beef and dairy farm in Lincoln County, North Carolina. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill before heading to New Orleans to attend Loyola University School of Law. Other than those three years in Louisiana, Jason has been a lifelong North Carolina resident and has called Charlotte home for over twenty five years.
Jason spent the first twenty years of his career on the defense side, representing insurance companies and employers in workers' compensation disputes. That experience gave him an inside view of the tactics insurers use to minimize what they pay injured workers. When he made the decision to switch sides, he brought all of that knowledge with him.
He now devotes his practice to representing injured workers and accident victims, including those hurt in car accidents, truck accidents, pedestrian accidents, and wrongful death cases. Having been both a lawyer and a client himself, Jason understands the difference a committed advocate can make, not just in a courtroom, but as a counselor and a listener. Those principles are at the foundation of Mehta & McConnell PLLC.
Jason is a North Carolina State Bar board-certified specialist in workers' compensation law, a designation held by fewer than 1% of attorneys in the state. He has handled cases before the North Carolina Industrial Commission, the Court of Appeals, and the Supreme Court, and has participated in hundreds of mediations and arbitrations across workers' compensation and civil litigation throughout his career.
He is also a member of both the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum, two of the most selective legal organizations in the country, with membership limited to trial attorneys who have secured million-dollar and multi-million-dollar results for their clients. Fewer than 1% of attorneys nationwide qualify.
Jason was named a North Carolina Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2010 and has been selected as a North Carolina Super Lawyer in 2023, 2024, and 2025.
Outside the office, Jason lives in Charlotte with his three children. He enjoys golf, cooking, traveling, and following the UNC Tar Heels and the Carolina Panthers. He also keeps a close eye on Appalachian State Mountaineers athletics, a loyalty that runs in the family: his father and brother are both App State graduates and devoted fans.

EXCELLENT
Jason McConnell represented me in my worker’s compensation case. He explained everything from the beginning and stayed in contact with me. He got a settlement that I otherwise would not have got.
