Baron is a native of Northern Virginia, but he has called Charlotte home since 1978. Since graduating in 1984 from the University of Tennessee School of Law, where he served as Assistant Editor of the Tennessee Law Review, Baron has practiced in the Charlotte area for over 28 years. He is a long-time member of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys, the North Carolina Bar Association, the North Carolina State Bar and the Mecklenburg County Bar Association. In 1990, Chief Bankruptcy Judge Marvin R. Wooten appointed Baron to the position of Clerk of Court for the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of North Carolina, where he served the bankruptcy judges for seven years. After serving as the Bankruptcy Clerk of Court, Baron was employed for two years as the attorney for the Chapter 13 Trustees for the Western District of North Carolina in the Charlotte, Wilkesboro and Shelby Divisions. In 1999, Baron was appointed to the position of Chapter 7 Trustee for the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of North Carolina, and he has extensive experience representing both debtors and creditors in bankruptcy cases throughout the state of North Carolina.
In 1997, Baron was certified by the North Carolina Bar Association’s Legal Board of Specialization as a specialist in the field of Consumer Bankruptcy Law after passing a rigorous exam and providing recommendations from prominent professionals and leaders in the bankruptcy field.
Baron also practices law in the areas of Wills and Estates and Adoptions. He is frequently appointed to serve as Guardian ad litem by the Mecklenburg County Clerk of Court.
