I have worked with David Simmons at Sodoma Law on divorce and domestic violence protective order cases, and highly recommend his counsel. David is very professional and thorough, and has helped me navigate several technical and complex legal issues in negotiations and in court. He has also reviewed... documents from an attorney I hired prior to him, and helped me navigate the negative consequences of how those documents were written. My next step with David will be to redraft those and attempt to renegotiate that agreement. In addition to his technical expertise, David has taken the time and care to really understand me and my family so that he keeps our core values and priorities in mind at all times. When I met David Simmons at the end of November, 2016, I had just been assaulted by my abusive husband, who was consequently arrested and convicted. My daughter, Heather Bolyard, age 30 had researched and had made a plan for when this day would come. The abuse lasted 14 years. Escalating. From day ...one, David was kind, patient, understanding and thorough in his questions and research. I immediately knew that he was the attorney I needed. At that time I was in shock. He told us the steps to take to begin the process of separating. Heather wrote it all down. They both walked me through that day. Both Heather and I tried to tell David what we were up against, a very narcissistic diagnosed bipolar person who refused to take his meds, but who was also extremely intelligent and manipulative.
