David M. Broome

We hired this "sir" in January 2017. He was recommended to us by someone who had hired him to deal with a company that owed us several thousands of dollars. He was very eager, nice and helpful while I discussed my situation. Because the company we wanted to sue us based in NC and we live in Florida, ...we saw value in hiring someone to help us get our money back. Once we paid half the fee David Broome billed us for, he went off the grid. Wouldn't answer emails, phone calls, voicemails, NOTHING. He led us to believe he'd file our case in court. Lied about that. He claimed he'd emailed the company's lawyer and he wasn't hearing back. I doubt he ever emailed them. We found out after we called the courthouse to inquire about our case that there was no case under our name or our company's name. He simply took our money and led us on. Eventually, we recovered the money the company owed us, thanks mainly to our own efforts. I wasn't done with David Broome, even if he was done with us. I filed a fee dispute with the state bar. His response was that we were entitled to a refund. Over 10 days passed and after not seeing a check we filed a grievance with the state bar. Today, 5/27/17, a partial check for what he owes us came in. His letter states we will see the difference in another check. Opportunistic, dishonest and a classic case of what bad lawyers are like. I deeply regret ever hiring this "sir", as he addressed me in the refund letter he sent. Good riddance!
