Born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana, Evan attended Indiana University at the Kelley School of business. Always knowing entrepreneurship was in his future, he majored in business management and human resources.
After leaving Indiana University, he left Indiana and moved to Illinois, attending Southern Illinois University, School of Law where he focused in business, transaction and trial law. While in law school, Evan partnered with one of his professors and started and acquired businesses throughout the Midwest.
Upon graduation, Evan opened up the original Howard Law based out of St. Louis, Missouri focusing on business, corporate, transactional and trial issues. He assisted many small business owners in all their needs from incorporation to acquisition - even acquiring more businesses of his own. Eventually, Howard Law would acquire and merge additional firms becoming Howard Haake providing legal services in business law, criminal law, family law, real estate law, trust and estate law and more.
Evan has a vast knowledge and understanding of all small business needs, whether its the best structure for your business, management of everyday business needs and issues or if its time for succession planning through an acquisition. Not only has Evan been on the legal representation side of the table, but he has actively bought, sold and management multiple businesses personally. This provides an additional level of expertise to truly understand and relate to you as a business owner.
Evan now lives outside of Belmont, North Carolina with his wife and son.

I wanted to really like this law firm. These were my second lawyers for my divorce, I gave them lots of opportunities and excuses. "I know you are very busy..." etc. Ultimately, I've asked both Evan Howard and Derek Haake to withdraw from my case. I see the good reviews here and I just recommend you ...

I first consulted with Evan. He listened and explained all options. Very knowledgeable in the area required. Would definitely recommend to others.

He responded to my question very quickly and gave me advice when I had none. I now have a better plan than I did before.

Had a question about LLC, gave me an answer and some ideas about what else I might need to protect my self.

He was very aware of my situation and gave me a few good tips and was not prying
"I endorse this lawyer. Mr. Howard gives no-nonsense answers to those with questions on AVVO and has written useful legal guides."
"It was my pleasure to have Evan on board as an intern at my office. Mr. Howard was very professional and diligent. His solid work has been missed and he would be an asset on any case due to both his desire to serve and his desire to better his own knowledge of the craft."
"Evan was an intern for the Jackson County Public Defender's Office and a Teaching Assistant for my Trial Advocacy class. In both capacities, he proved himself to be extraordinarily industrious and compellingly passionate. He is a lawyer who is both goal-driven and client-sensitive. I am proud to call him a colleague now."
"Evan has worked closely with me on a number of serious criminal matters. He was meticulous with his research and his writing received the praise of several judges. I look forward to working with him in the future and his clients should rest assured that they are in good hands when they hire him. I strongly endorse Evan."
"I highly recommend Evan. He is an incredibly talented lawyer who has great attention to detail and is willing to work tirelessly to explore all possible avenues for success for each client that he represents."
