My company was attempting to purchase the remaining lots in an REO residential community. The purchase was to include our having to assume the remaiining developer obligations, which were significant and somewhat complex. It was absolutely essential that we complete the deal in a tight deadline. T...he complexity of the deal stemmed from having to create documents that had to be reviewed and approved by several disparate groups involved in the transaction, including City staff, City attorneys, the community homeowners association, the bank (seller) and their consultant, and my company's hierarchy. In many cases, documents had to be created and revised on extremely short notice with abnormally quick turnaround. John-Paul made himself available 24/7 and in several cases was working for me into the early morning hours to make sure we stayed on schedule. Through his experience and thoroughness, he produced legal documents that, thankfully, invited very little return comment from the City's attorney. Because of his easy-going demeanor and ability to speak to the level of his audience, without sounding overly "lawyerly", I was happy to have John-Paul step in and and speak on my company's behalf in negotiations with the City and the homeowners association. Bottom line, with John-Paul's invaluable assistance and excellent counsel, we were able to pull off a deal that had me awake at night for many weeks. He is a terrific resource to my company.
