Douglas E. Berger

I joined the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin in 2005, where I handle Workers’ Compensation litigation and dispute resolution.

I received my Juris Doctor from the University of North Carolina School of Law. I received both my Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Speech Communications, as well as a teaching certificate in Social Studies, from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

I served as a Deputy Commissioner at the North Carolina Industrial Commission (NCIC) for 10 years before accepting the position at the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin. Prior to that, I served as a Criminal Prosecutor for the 9th and 11th Judicial Districts of North Carolina. Currently, I am serving my third term representing the seventh district of North Carolina, which encompasses Franklin, Granville, Vance and Warren Counties.

I am excited to be a part of the workers' compensation team at the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin.  I am passionate about helping them in their commitment to representing injured people.  As a former Deputy Commissioner of the North Carolina Industrial Commission, I am quite aware of what our clients are up against.

I am a member of the North Carolina State Bar, the North Carolina Bar Association, the State Employees Association of North Carolina and the North Carolina Advocates for Justice. I also served on the Board of Directors for Franklin County Social Services.
