Tenacious

I found myself manipulated into an unbelievable tenant situation. Due to her knowledge and tenacity, Claire had my issues resolved in a surprisingly short period of time without additional expense and inconvenience. I know others who, on opposing sides, are very unhappy because they lost to Claire.... She has an excellent, proven reputation and I highly recommend her.

Tenant Issue

Selecting Ms. Shapack to represent me was one of the best decisions I could have involving a tenant/landord legal situation. Ms. Shapack was very knowledgeable, thorough, honest and direct in counseling me through a very difficult tenant/landlord dispute. If needed again in the future, I would retain... her to represent my interests.

Lease terminaton

Claire did a fantastic job representing my wife and I in a dispute with our landlords. She was extremely competent and professional, and did a great job staying on top of everything. Our issue wound up being resolved much the way I had anticipated, with no time spent in court and we were compensated ...fairly. I would recommend Claire to anyone seeking excellent representation.

Took a month to call back and then was rude.

I left a message for Claire Shapack nearly a month ago regarding a landlord/tentant issue where our landlord was trying to charge us termination fees that we didn't agree with. I just received a call back from her today and almost forgot who she was since it had been so long that I found her website ...and left a voicemail for her initially. I asked her why it took so long to call me back and she said I left my message for her right before she left town. To me that is not acceptable in the modern world. Especially when you require somewhat immediate legal counsel. Even if you are leaving town at least have someone check your voicemails. I then briefly explained the situation to her and she said that in order to talk any more I'd need to bring in all correspondence evidence and that she would charge a $150 consultation fee. She said this rudely and and in a manner that led me to believe she would not care about helping us at all... she said a lot of people just use her for consultations and then move on without her that's why the fee is so high. Due to the extremely long time for a return call and then the attitude I was given during the call I would never recommend even trying to use this attorney. She made me feel like I was simply bothering her and that she didn't have time for a petty case such as mine. NO THANK YOU Claire Shapack. It's a shame too because we have money and were willing to pay even more than what the landlord was trying to get from us just to prove we were right. She was rude...late to call....and just plain not what anyone needs in someone representing them.. Find a lawyer that you feel is on your side and that will return calls promptly. The Shapack Firm is not what you need if you want to feel reassured and cared about.

Chaire K. Shapack is a Mediator/Arbitrator, not a Trial Lawyer

On December 22, 2009, I paid Claire Shapack $150 for a so-called consultation. I went to her office seeking reepresentation in a Landlord/Tenant court dispute. Shapack did not listen to me with an attorney's analytical ear, but her mediator's ear. Shapack also admitted that she has never repr...esented a client in a jury trial in her ten years of practice. She did not tell me that when I asked her to recommend a "SHARK" attorney. Apparently, Shapack's professional mileau is limited to the bargaining table, not the coutroom.
