Prior to joining with Ryan Willis to form Willis & Johnson, PLLC, I had a variety of professional experiences that I bring to my practice of law. After graduating from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, I served as a Surface Warfare Officeer in the United States Navy. After I completed my service, I worked for United States Senator Max Cleland and assisted him in the areas of national defense and veterans affairs. I returned to North Carolina and to Chapel Hill to study law. Upon graduating from law school, I served for three years as a prosecutor in Wake County and gained valuable experience prosecuting criminal defendants on charges ranging from DWI to Murder. I left the district attorney's office to return to my hometown of Hickory, NC to run for Congress. While I managed to win my party's nomination, the campaign fell short in the general election. I returned to Raleigh after the election and went into private practice in the areas of criminal defense and civil litigation. In 2011, I joined my law school classmate and fellow former prosecutor, Ryan Willis, to form Willis & Johnson, PLLC.

DWI Driving Privilege
I reached out to Daniel, due to needing restricted Driving previlages. I got a DUI out of state, and moved to Raleigh. He was quick and efficient. Thanks again
"Daniel is an excellent attorney. He has been in practice longer than I have and he has mentored me since before I sat for the bar. I hold him in high regards and I highly reccomend him."
"Daniel is a smart, hardworking, and honest lawyer. He is very persuasive in court in that he knows the best arguments to make and, importantly, the arguments that should not be made. I have seen him obtain excellent results for his clients in court in light of the circumstances of what could have happened."
