Tommi Elizabeth Powell

Tommi Elizabeth Powell is an Associate Attorney at Guirguis Law focusing on the areas of Employment-based Immigration, Personal Injury and Animal Law (including contracts for sale and purchase, breeder issues, and Veterinary Malpractice).  A proud graduate of Campbell University Norman Adrian School of Law, Ms. Powell views her profession as a calling and seeks both legal and social justice with her actions as a legal advocate.

Ms. Powell is an avid animal lover who participates in dog show competitions with her Norfolk Terrier.  She is a strong supporter of animal welfare and breeder’s rights.  She seeks to assist breeders in understanding their rights while equally protecting animals.  

In addition to her Juris Doctor degree, Ms. Powell holds a Master of Arts in English, with a concentration in multicultural literature.  Her hunger to learn more about other cultures began at early age.  Both her parents were history buffs with interests in Native American culture and artifacts.  Some of her earliest memories are of walking a freshly damp earth, following in the steps of her father, in search of an arrow head or pottery shard.  Her passion for learning about other cultures continued to grow in her undergraduate years at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she was afforded the opportunity to study at Thammasat University in Bangkok, Thailand, and Oxford University in England. 

In her spare time, Ms. Powell enjoys reading, Tar Heel sports, photography and spending time with her loved ones.
