After my arrest, my daughter said she knew Matt was the man for the job when he expressed how sorry he was to be needed for the huge challenge I had to overcome. I will never forget the day Matt visited me in county (he was a regular visitor) when he abruptly got up to leave, saying he was going to ...get me out of there. He knew I was innocent. He listened to me, worked with my public defender and me, and kept my loved ones informed. He encouraged me to not lose faith during some very very dark days. I will never forget the day we appeared in court for a bail reduction hearing. His passionate presentation of the facts in my case dwarfed the lame weak pleas of the prosecution, resulting in an amazing reduction in bail that got me home where I could more fully participate in the accumulation of evidence that clearly proved my innocence (and yes, the system treated me as guilty until proven innocent). I wish Matt could have seen me today, living a full happy life that he helped me recreate. Matt saved my life and I will be eternally grateful.

We approached Mr Faucette for a possible early expungement in 2015 before the new NC expungement law passed in 2017. Beyond the consultation, we didn't hear much from him after we paid the fee, which was three times of that from another lawyer we used later on to file the expungement in 2017. I u...nderstand that it may have been more difficult before the law was passed, but what was concerning was that it was difficult to hear from him or get a straight answer after the fee was paid. If we did receive a response, it wasn't a concrete no, this can't be done, or yes, we can move forward either. It wasn't until the law passed and I reached out about it, that I received an almost immediate response and was quoted another fee to have it filed. We decided to go with another attorney and the record has since been expunged, and we have moved on. It was an expensive lesson learned.

He lied to me. don't hire him for anything other than criminal law, I made that mistake and he gave my opponent free legal advice and helped him strike a better deal than what he was asking for. My opponent committed perjury but Faucett disregarded that entirely just to get rid of my case. A complete... waste of money.
