I was charged with communicating threats. I am not from the Wayne County area so a local attorney friend of mine referred me to Keith Rouse. I met with Mr Rouse and decided to retain him even though I was a little nervous about his laid back demeanor. I know some attorneys in surrounding counties and they said I made a good choice. I was scared to death when it came time for court. The accuser got on the stand and only about 50% of his story was accurate as he was the agressor. I was prepared to tell my side of the story as well as a witness that was present. I sat in court all morning. I was glad to see the presiding judge treated everyone with great respect regardless of what they were there for. Mr Rouse plead me not guilty and I could tell right away the ADA could care less about the truth. The accuser told his story and when it was Mr Rouse's turn to question him he went after that guy like you wouldn't believe. It was obvious the guy wasn't telling the entire truth. Mr Rouse got the case dismissed before it went any further. I will and have highly recommended Mr. Rouse. He is an excellent attorney and no doubt he treats his clients with respect no matter what they are accused of.

I was cited for a minor fender bender that was determined to be my fault. There were several mitigating factors involved with the event, and I was at my wits end to figure out how I was going to get a proper hearing on the matter. I have known Mr. Rouse for a number of years and arranged to discuss it with him. It was apparent that he understood how the case should be handled and explained very clearly how my best interests would be served. I subsequently engaged him to represent me at a very reasonable cost. In the end, the final disposition was both timely and in accordance with our original conversation. I was very happy with Mr. Rouse as my lawyer and do recommend him.

Keith was amazing! He didn't cost me an arm and a leg and he took care of 2 tickets for me. One was a speeding ticket and the other was a ticket from a car accident. He got the speeding ticket reduced significantly and he got the car accident ticket thrown out. I highly recommend Keith you will not be disappointed!

We hired Mr. Rouse to handle a speeding ticket my 17 year old daughter received. As a driver licensed for less than a year, a conviction on a moving violation could have been devastating to her auto insurance costs. Mr. Rouse successfully had the charge reduced to an improper equipment charge, with no points assessed! Wonderful job Mr. Rouse!

After I contacted Mr. Rouse, he handled everything in a very professional and timely manner. The outcome was better than expected and his fees are very reasonable.
I would recommend him to anyone.

I had a criminal charge pending and consulted Rouse Law Office to handle the case. Once I sat down with this gentlemen I knew I was going to hire him to represent me in this matter. Very friendly, personable and doesn't make you feel like you are any less of a person. I appreciated the candidness and honesty that I received and would definitely utilize this firm again God forbid I need to. I got a speeding ticket near Goldsboro, NC while returning from a golf trip to Myrtle Beach, NC. Typical small town speed trap (revenue generator), where the cop was sitting at bottom of a hill on a four lane highway and nabbed the out of town driver. To make matters worse, the cop wrote me up for 70 in a 55 which for some reason (revenue generator) required a personal appearance in court. 69 in a 55 would not, but the cop wouldn't write it for that. After calling the court I was told that the ticket would get me 3 or 4 points, a hefty fine, and and increase in my insurance rates. They said I should find a local attorney and they could likely get the charge reduced. Without any better options I resolved myself to paying what I expected to be an exorbitant amount to an attorney AND the fines/court costs. I checked around and used AVVO to find Keith Rouse. Keith was professional, told me what I should expect and told me his very reasonable fee. I sent him ~$450 (can't remember exact amount) and it was supposed to cover his costs, fines and court costs. I had to get my driving record from Virginia and send it to him (another $35) , but with that he was able to get my charge reduced to improper equipment which had no impact on my record and insurance. He even sent me back some money that was left over from the fines/court costs. I'm still a bit sore about the speed trap and racket (mandatory appearance), and will never venture anywhere near Goldsboro, NC again (stick to the main highways if you are going to Myrtle Beach, folks). However, I can't say anything but good things about Mr. Rouse. If you find yourself in a similar situation in eastern NC, I would highly recommend him.
