When I was growing up, I heard this statement quite often from people who were taking advantage of me or my family, “Sue me.” I grew up on the other side of the tracks, and what these people understood was that I could not afford to retain an attorney. Because of that, they knew they could take advantage of me or my family. I decided at a young age that if I could not afford an attorney I would become an attorney. I wanted to be the type of attorney that would help others through many of the obstacles I faced growing up.

That is the reason my main focus is on Protecting YOU from THEM! Whether it’s protecting you from an insurance company taking advantage of you when you’re injured, or protecting you from someone who has not kept their word, or protecting you from an over-zealous court system, my desire is to fight for you when you’re unable to do so yourself.

My promise to you is that you will get a tenacious attorney that will not settle for mediocre outcomes. I promise to walk with you through every step of the process. I promise to be a hands-on attorney. I like to sit down with all of my clients and talk to them firsthand. I strive to be accessible to all my clients. You can call and talk to me when you have a legal question about your case. My professional and courteous staff will be there to handle much of the paperwork and answer some of the questions you have in the process. But when it comes time to negotiate a matter with an insurance company or another attorney, rest assured that I will be the one negotiating your case, not my paralegals.

I cannot help you with the physical pain and discomfort of an injury, or the emotional trauma of lawsuits and arrests, but I can ease your mind that you will have an attorney that understands what it is like to need someone to stand with you and fight, and that is what I intend to do.

On a personal note: I have a lovely wife and four children. I spend most of my free time with my family at church, home, hunting, fishing and other activities so many Eastern North Carolinians enjoy.
