Best lawyer in the Fayetteville area
Matt is hands down the best lawyer there is to obtain in the Fayetteville area. He and his staff are the most compassionate and understanding people you would want to work with during trying legal times. I retained Matt for my divorce and child custody/support matters and he went above and beyond in every aspect to ensure we were always ready for court and to ensure I was always in the know about what was going on and what I could expect at the next turn. Even after leaving the service and moving many states away, he took care of legal matters that arose after moving in a timely matter, still getting winning results. I have referred many people for various needs to Matt and he has done them all the same justice as he did me. If you want an amazing attorney that will fight for you and your needs until the very end, Plyler Law Firm is the way to go, he is the best there is at what he does.

Great job
As an out of state driver, I panicked when I learned a "personal appearance" was required for my traffic violation ( 86 in a 55 speed). I called no fewer than 10 attorneys in the area but not one (other than Matt) took the time to speak with me personally. He kept me up to date on the proceedings and achieved the best outcome possible. No mark on my license, no insurance rate increase, no fine, no points. My advice to everyone out there with a pending traffic charge is to hire Matt. He will work hard to get you the best outcome possible. Further, his fees are reasonable. Much less than what you'll be paying if you're guilty and your insurance rates go up.

Great Service and dedication! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Great Service and dedication! I talked with two other law firms to see if they could help me with a traffic violation. I was told by one law office that they could not help. The second told me that I needed to pay them $1,000 up front without reviewing my case and they would "See what they could do". I then spoke with our JAG office who referred me to the Matt Plyler Law Firm. Within minuets of talking with Matt Plyler I knew they were the right firm to go through. He let me know there would be NO charge until he did the research first. After two days I received a phone call from Matt letting me know that he could accomplish everything I needed and that it would cost me $300 LESS than the other quotes. I have since then referred several friends to the Plyler Law Firm and they have all been more than pleased. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Straightforward, honest, and on your side! This is the lawyer you want in your corner.
When I got back from deployment, I found out that things back home had not gone as they should have. I met with several lawyers, but I didn't feel like any of them were being straight with me. The last thing I wanted was more dishonesty as I had experienced enough of that already. One of my friends told me to call Matt Plyler. Mr. Plyler told me what I needed to know, not just what I wanted to hear. Mr. Plyler gave me straight forward explanations of what I could expect and what could be done. I knew he was the guy. When everything was said and done, he delivered. If you want someone who will be honest and straightforward with you and who will look out for your rights, you want Matt Plyler on your side

Excellent, professional and effective
I have worked with the Plyler Law Firm several times and have referred my friends and family there. Mr. Plyler and his staff are very efficient and effective. The first time I retained him, other lawyers had told me I did not have a case or that I would end up with almost nothing. Mr. Plyler fought for me and got an excellent result. If you need someone on your side, you cannot go wrong with this firm. I have been represented by this firm on personal injury, speeding tickets, and a will. They also represented several of my friends on divorces.

Professional misconduct

This lawyer was disciplined by a state licensing authority in 2012.

Reprimand issued in NC, 2012
updated on 10/09/2014

Typically in this case the lawyer's poor behavior is exposed to the public in hopes that he or she will not repeat the behavior.

Matthew's comment: “DISCIPLINED FOR TRYING TO PROTECT CLIENTS. I hired an associate who I told not to do certain work as I did not believe she was experienced enough. The associate disregarded my rules. My paralegal became aware of it and informed me. I told the associate to stop. My paralegal saw further violations and warned them to stop and alerted me. Although I was trying to protect clients, the Bar disciplined me because my paralegal told them to stop violating my rules (Bar discipline says only I could).”
