Great Service and dedication! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Great Service and dedication! I talked with two other law firms to see if they could help me with a traffic violation. I was told by one law office that they could not help. The second told me that I needed to pay them $1,000 up front without reviewing my case and they would "See what they could do".... I then spoke with our JAG office who referred me to the Matt Plyler Law Firm. Within minuets of talking with Matt Plyler I knew they were the right firm to go through. He let me know there would be NO charge until he did the research first. After two days I received a phone call from Matt letting me know that he could accomplish everything I needed and that it would cost me $300 LESS than the other quotes. I have since then referred several friends to the Plyler Law Firm and they have all been more than pleased. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Excellent, professional and effective

I have worked with the Plyler Law Firm several times and have referred my friends and family there. Mr. Plyler and his staff are very efficient and effective. The first time I retained him, other lawyers had told me I did not have a case or that I would end up with almost nothing. Mr. Plyler fought f...or me and got an excellent result. If you need someone on your side, you cannot go wrong with this firm. I have been represented by this firm on personal injury, speeding tickets, and a will. They also represented several of my friends on divorces.

Professional misconduct

This lawyer was disciplined by a state licensing authority in 2012.

Reprimand issued in NC, 2012

updated on 10/09/2014

Typically in this case the lawyer's poor behavior is exposed to the public in hopes that he or she will not repeat the behavior.

Matthew’s comment:

“DISCIPLINED FOR TRYING TO PROTECT CLIENTS. I hired an associate who I told not to do certain work as I did not believe she was experienced enough. The associate disregarded my rules. My paralegal became aware of it and informed me. I told the associate to stop. My paralegal saw further violations and warned them to stop and alerted me. Although I was trying to protect clients, the Bar disciplined me because my paralegal told them to stop violating my rules (Bar discipline says only I could).”

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline
