Excellent Lawyer

My first experience with John was in 2005. He helped me through my separation, divorce and custody issues. He told me exactly how the process works at the consultation, he gave me a fair cost and he followed through on everything. There were no extra costs and no surprises. When I needed a lawyer ...for an out of town speeding ticket, I called John. He could not represent me but he gave me a recommendation for an out of town lawyer who was great and handled my case quickly and cost effectively. I have recommended several people to John, and they have also been pleased with the outcome. The only time I personally know of John removing himself from a case was when a relative of mine misrepresented what he needed and then proceeded to not do as advised and not follow up. John sent a letter detailing the problem and what needed to be done. My relative then just let everything drop to his own dismay. My relative showed me the correspondence. Bottom line is John cannot help you if you do not participate in your own case. Recently, I have had an issue with a person who has been trespassing on my property, has threatened my family, assaulted me, committed fraud and has been harassing me and my family. Law enforcement refused to do anything. I contacted John once again and as expected, all is resolved to my satisfaction and for a very reasonable cost. John is blunt and will not double talk you or try to make you feel better. He's blunt, open and honest. He will tell you how things work and the best way to take care of a case. You can present options and he will flat out tell you won't work and why. You have latitude in how you want to proceed, but the John I know will not let you proceed down a foolish path and thank goodness for that. He will also tell you if you are trying to pursue a course that will cost you more than you will gain. If you don't want the truth then find a different lawyer who will waste your time and money for you. I'm not a sue happy person and only use the courts when I have no other option. I have used other lawyers and John is the best. I have had horrendous experiences with other lawyers and know how bad things can get. I know that if John is not knowledgeable in the area I need he will flat out tell me that.

some people just want to gripe

I tried to get a sense of Mr. Lunsford's capability in looking at "reviews". I took a chance and found him to be most congenial, quite experienced, and his fees were modest, to say the least. For anyone doing what I did, pls. be mindful that AVVO offers anyone a chance to gripe and a Divorce Lawyer... is dealing with a very emotional situation. I asked Mr. Lunsford about the negative reviews and he gave me a straightforward response. Some people are very difficult to deal with and just want to be told what they want to hear. Mr. Lunsford tells it like it is. He handled a custody case for me for $1200 and he has a flat fee contract. Anyone complaining about his fees is just a ne'er do well.

Do not hire.

Once my account was paid in full he would not return my phone calls. Missed medation because he failed to notify me of time and date. Was not experienced in the type of case I hired him for but said he had experience during the consultation. Had me drop the case and refile because of his error in j...udgement which costs more money.
