Worst attorney I’ve witnessed.

The Opinion of a recently former paying client. If you want to have everything in an attorney that you don’t want in an attorney, hire this fella! Like late night text that you have a mandatory court date the next morning? Like no response from the attorney you hired to represent YOU? Like sit...ting in court two days a week for him to do nothing? Then you have found the right attorney! He is your typical good ol boy in the court room but with no clout with the DA’s. In 2.5 years he did nothing in my case to help me. He is best at getting you charged with failure to appear because he nor you will know there’s a court date. He will swear to file motions and petition for your case but ultimately will not do anything besides hand you the first plea offered. I had to “substitute” (also known as fire) this POS because he wasn’t doing any work for my case. The guy can barely open his eyes when he rolls out of bed and comes into court and I’m not sure if it’s alcohol or what that keeps him red faced and full of sh*t. He has been in trouble for not doing anything for his clients before and is allegedly currently being investigated for the same things from the same body that reprimanded him before!! I have turned over all of the (Non) communication between me and him to hopefully get my money back and him to be reprimanded like he was before. If you meet with this guy I beg you to do as I did and record every conversation to pass to the ncBar when you have to do as I’m currently having to do with Marshall Dotson. There’s plenty of better options within a 3 mile radius of Marshall Dotson’s office. Please do your research unlike I did. Do your self a favor and get ANY other option as your attorney before this man screws you out of your money and does nothing for your case besides failure to appears. ***Please look up his previous Trouble for taking folks money and doing nothing else. I’ll post the links to make it easy for future potential clients to see BEFORE they hire this bum of an attorney like I did. http://www.ncbar.com/orders/dotson,%20marshall%20consent%20order%20of%20disc.pdf https://www.noethics.net/News/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=4775:attorney-marshall-dotson-iii-of-greensboro-nc-ethical-dwarf&catid=165:north-carolina-attorney-misfits&Itemid=100 https://www.ncbar.gov/orders/volume%203/06040679.pdf If anyone is going through the same type of situation with this guy or previously been through it with this guy and would like to team up so he can’t continue doing this please call me or text me at three36-467-zero115

Divorce

Hired him for my divorce case and just like many of you said he never returned calls, forgot to inform me that I was supose to be in court, I just happen to walk in his office to pay him some money and he was like I will see you in the morning and this was at 3 in the evening, no time to let my work ...prepare for me to be gone.. I was sitting in his office one day and over heard him talking to another young soon to be attorney and he said "yeah most of my clients are a bunch of low lifes" to this day I should have put him in his place but I kept my mouth shut..

What? Attorney's do not get paid enough to hold hands.

I must admit Mr. Dotson is a very busy man, but he is the best attorney that I have ever done business with. My last divorce, not being my first rodeo, I had a fairly good idea of the fees to expect and knew better than to run up my own fees with a bunch of unnecessary calls and emails. I took all ...of my information in when I first met with Mr. Dotson, we discussed my case and he or someone from his office called me when they needed further information from me. My bill at the end was nearly $8000.00 which I thought very reasonable compared to my first attorney on this matter. I can't even bad mouth him as I picked an attorney that did not specialize in domestic matters. In the door I paid $2500, when I in effect "fired" him (the first attorney in this particular matter) there had been NO court documents filed so the only thing I received back were letters between attorneys and a copy of the fee agreement that I signed acknowledging that no initial moneys paid would be refunded. Mr. Dotson then took my case worked with me on payment and gave my ex a good old fashioned spanking plus sued him for the remainder of the attorney fees owed. I wonder if some people understand the process? I also wonder if they consider that when you are paying someone to look after your best interest perhaps you need to step back and let them handle it. NO, the process was not quick and NO he never called unless he needed something from me, but he did an excellent job for me. The bad reviews...I think are bogus, I went from my first attorney offering to settle at $2500.00 and 2 years at $200 per month and ended up with $90,000.00. I think that was a damn good job. Thank you Mr. Dotson
