Divorce

Hired him for my divorce case and just like many of you said he never returned calls, forgot to inform me that I was supose to be in court, I just happen to walk in his office to pay him some money and he was like I will see you in the morning and this was at 3 in the evening, no time to let my work ...prepare for me to be gone.. I was sitting in his office one day and over heard him talking to another young soon to be attorney and he said "yeah most of my clients are a bunch of low lifes" to this day I should have put him in his place but I kept my mouth shut..

Needs to lose his License to practice!

My Ex and I have been trying to get separation papers for 3 years and because of Marshall we still don't have anything. Marshall has wasted Our time. He makes promises and never fulfills them. DON'T HIRE THIS ATTORNEY.

Great pick

He did a wonderful job with my divorce and separation. The process is slow and now that it is all said and done, I understand why. Mr. Dotson did a fantastic job and I recommend him to all my friends, family and acquaintances. I do not believe the bad reviews...they are so very different than my ex...perience working with him.

What? Attorney's do not get paid enough to hold hands.

I must admit Mr. Dotson is a very busy man, but he is the best attorney that I have ever done business with. My last divorce, not being my first rodeo, I had a fairly good idea of the fees to expect and knew better than to run up my own fees with a bunch of unnecessary calls and emails. I took all ...of my information in when I first met with Mr. Dotson, we discussed my case and he or someone from his office called me when they needed further information from me. My bill at the end was nearly $8000.00 which I thought very reasonable compared to my first attorney on this matter. I can't even bad mouth him as I picked an attorney that did not specialize in domestic matters. In the door I paid $2500, when I in effect "fired" him (the first attorney in this particular matter) there had been NO court documents filed so the only thing I received back were letters between attorneys and a copy of the fee agreement that I signed acknowledging that no initial moneys paid would be refunded. Mr. Dotson then took my case worked with me on payment and gave my ex a good old fashioned spanking plus sued him for the remainder of the attorney fees owed. I wonder if some people understand the process? I also wonder if they consider that when you are paying someone to look after your best interest perhaps you need to step back and let them handle it. NO, the process was not quick and NO he never called unless he needed something from me, but he did an excellent job for me. The bad reviews...I think are bogus, I went from my first attorney offering to settle at $2500.00 and 2 years at $200 per month and ended up with $90,000.00. I think that was a damn good job. Thank you Mr. Dotson

Definitely do NOT hire him for a divorce

Had the WORST experience with him. He is too busy to handle my case apparently, but not too busy to bill me thousands of dollars with nothing to show for it. I email, call, text, all to no avail. I never hear back from him. Months will go by with no response no matter how much I contact him and leave... desperate messages. It makes a tough situation (divorce) even tougher! He has caused as much pain and frustration as my ex, which is saying a lot. Other than broken promises and empty vows, he has done nothing for me or my case other than allow it to drag out much longer than it should have.
