Russell Wayne Gerney

As a sole practitioner, Mr. Gerney represents personal injury plaintiffs, unemployed workers, and victims of legal malpractice in both Pennsylvania and Ohio.  Mr. Gerney also represents Social Security disability applicants in West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Ohio. 

Russell Gerney began his legal career in 2001 as a law clerk for a small firm in Pittsburgh, PA.  He graduated from the Duquesne University School of Law in June 2003 and was admitted to the Pennsylvania bar in October 2003. 

After relocating to Toledo Ohio in 2005, Mr. Gerney began working for a large plaintiff oriented firm.  After almost five years with that firm, Mr. Gerney began his own practice on April 25, 2010. 

Mr. Gerney is licensed to practice in several federal courts including the Supreme Court of the United States.  He has been published in the Duquesne Law Review and Ohio Trial.  Mr. Gerney has also taught several seminars on Social Security disability claims.  His article Equal Protection Under the Pennsylvania Constitution, has been cited by the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania who referred to the article as “an excellent history of the changing constitutional sources for ‘equal protection’ under the Pennsylvania Constitution.”
