Emily Rowe Sitzler

I’m so grateful for the support and guidance I received from Emily Sitzler during one of the most difficult times in my life. She helped me navigate the custody process with clarity and professionalism, always fighting for my daughter’s best interest. Ms. Sitzler listened to my concerns and was ...never dismissive but took me seriously. From the first consultation she was very compassionate and understanding and it was clear to me that she truly cared about my situation. Our case involved collaboration with other lawyers/GAL, law enforcement, psych evaluators, visitation supervisors, and witnesses and she managed this all very professionally and offered clear advice for me throughout the case. I also greatly appreciated the time she put into preparing me for testifying, and helping me to feel safe at the courthouse. Thanks to her work, I was granted custody of my 23-month-old daughter and permission to move to NY to be with my family. I truly appreciate her help and the help of her staff and would recommend them to anyone going through a custody case who wants a lawyer who cares, listens, works hard, and knows the law.

This lawyer always seemed distracted with other matters. Do not expect empathy. Child custody and divorce matters were already decided before I entered the court room. One phrase I would love to have heard from her- “ material change in circumstance” “ We need to get this right, now” I’m living co ...parent hell after the case was closed, In Virginia you don’t go back to court because you’re a good father and simply ask to be in a child’s life more. MATERIAL CHANGE IN CIRCUMSTANCE. Look it up, she won’t mention it in her scripted intake meeting. She gets paid, father live with it for years. If there was an option for zero stars, that would be my rating. If I could redo, I would hire someone else.

We finally hired Emily after hiring several of the areas "best" custody attorneys and paying tens of $K's for disinterest and poor communication (at best) for our ongoing child welfare/custody case. Emily was recommended to us by our child's trauma specialist as an attorney who takes interest in h...er cases, and most importantly, schedules herself enough time to have an understanding of your case before entering the court room. (If you've had other attorneys, you know this is rare.) Emily put us at ease and then got work doing what she does best! Her performance and demeanor in the courtroom is impeccable! She's not afraid to tackle tough issues or ask hard questions. The staff at Rowe & Sitzler is also outstanding! Again, taking time to know who you are and understand your situation. They are also incredibly helpful answering questions, and are happy to do so (another rarity). Thank you Rowe and Sitzler! We'll never use anyone else again.

This attorney has too much going on. Hard to reach and did not make me feel as a valuable client. This was for child custody and there is a lot of stress and a lot at stake when it comes to one’s child. It seemed this was only another case for the lawyer, almost scripted, not tailored to my specific ...situation. Fees were not clearly defined. An invoice was sent only by request after retainer was depleted and more funds were needed. Family court is very stressful for a parent. An attorney should be the parent’s greatest ally. There was a lot left up to this attorney’s client to figure out and little time to do that. I’m sorry I did not hire an attorney I can recommend.
