wouldnt call

I suppose he is overworked or just too busy. after 3 voicemails left on his phone, and 5 emails to his website, basically pleading towards the last, to at least return my calls or email and tell me to buzz off or whatever but he could not even bother to do that. We were basically beat up in montgomer...y county court named as a defendant in a litigation for unpaid rent late fees, as well as eviction from mobile home park by brand new owners over severe rent hike and ignorant and mean rules package. as the defendant I did not get to say but only 1 word, yes or no on amount owed. I was trying to find out where to pay your rent while litigation over rules took place but no answers from him. BTW it is paid 3rd floor court house called registry if anyone needs this info like I did. but you gotta give landlords 30 days notice by certified mail that their rent is being paid there and why. information that would definately kept us from a 10 day eviction which is complete horsepuckey because it was never about the normal rent money which is all they were awarded anyway. but after being late on rent only twice in 14 + years we were booted anyway. thanks there mr. robertson for all your help. NOT!!!!!!!

This individual was never a client. I'm very sorry that I was unable to return his calls in this matter, because I have been occupied representing several clients in an expedited federal matter (fighting the taking of their land for a gas pipeline) and another client in a murder trial. These other matters were for my current clients, and required extraordinary attention. I am sorry that I was unable to take his case, and that he chose not to call any other attorneys. Though it is unfortunate that he appears to be taking out his frustrations regarding his landlord in this review, I am hopeful that he finds a landlord who treats him fairly in the future.

Wise beyond his years

I had an unfortunate incident involving my child with another roommate while attending college out of state. I was referred to John and found him to be instantly insightful on what was relevant to my child's situation with both the roommate and the landlord. John was able to quickly establish the ...options I could pursue and the steps required for each. John also had a very pragmatic sense about how others would respond to my possible actions. John provided me specific guidance to ensure I was able to get the outcomes I desired. In the end, he was probably too wise for his own good, as I was able to resolve this entire incident without any legal action. John's consultation was both insightful and empowering. I would definitely recommend John and his services to resolve your legal needs.

Landlord- Tenant Issues

John helped explain my options as a tenant in a situation with a difficult Landlord. He first got the basic info about my situation, then consulted the relevant code sections of the law before giving me any advice. I appreciate the fact that John was very professional. thorough, and seemed to general...ly want to help me solve a stressful situation. I'd definitely recommend john in any situation where a lawyer is needed, he was very detailed in explaining ALL of my possible options.

Look No Further

I own a single property in Roanoke county that I have been renting out for the past few years and up until recently I've had pretty good luck with the tenants. Once I ran into a situation with a problematic tenant though, I found myself disjointed and confused about the law and what I could do to rem...edy the situation either by squashing lease violations or potentially evicting the tenant. The law seems to heavily favor the tenant and the steps required to remedy a problem situation, left me uncertain about how to proceed. I attempted to reach out to a couple of attorneys in the Roanoke area but had little luck in even getting someone's attention. In stepped John Robertson w/Spicer Law. A mutual acquaintance put me in touch with John and while I'm sure that my particular needs didn't represent a windfall of revenue for John, he was very gracious, professional, and helpful. John made it easy for me to ask questions, maintaining regular contact with me via email which I think worked out well for both he and I. This allowed me to get the answers I needed, when I needed them, without unduly burdening John's schedule and other responsibilities. Not only did John direct me but he went a huge step beyond my expectations and actually taught me about the process so that I could "fend for myself". In my opinion that is representative of someone who truly cares about people. As much as I dread having to go through the courts for anything at all, in this particular situation John has enabled me to do so with confidence, clarity and understanding. To me that is priceless and his assistance has far exceeded any expectations that I may have had. I am so glad that I now have a dependable and knowledgeable, legal point of contact as a landlord. And to those attorneys in Roanoke that failed to get back to me......please reach out to John Robertson so that he can show you how it should be done.

Very Knowledgeable and Helpful

Little did we know that inheriting rental property would become a nightmare for us. After consulting with a friend's husband who manages a local rental company, we were directed to Mr. Robertson for help with a tenant issue. Mr. Robertson was very easy to talk to, clear and concise with his explana...tions, and followed up with us by email as events and issues developed. In the courtroom, he made us feel as comfortable and we were well prepared to answer any questions that were directed toward us. We were very pleased with the outcome of our situation and have since sought his help on other rental matters. We would highly recommend Mr. Robertson to anyone that has Landlord/Tenant/Rental issues.
