Josh is the former President of the Roanoke Chapter of the Federal Bar Association, the former Chairman of the Construction and Public Contracts Section of the Virginia Bar Association, the former Chairman of the Corporate and Commercial Litigation Section of the Virginia Association of Defense Attorneys, and he currently serves on the Board of Governors for the Virginia State Bar's Construction Law and Public Contracts Section.

Professional presence I needed
With Mr. Johnson's help, I was supported to make numerous decisions after receiving poor quality work from a contractor. With Mr. Johnson's guidance, direction, and a legal letter to my contractor, I had the insight I needed to take my case to small claims court and win. Mr. Johnson was profrssional, helpful, and easy to work with.

The Closer
I was in a 5 year legal night mare. We were in a revolving door of one complaint going away and another would take its place. This had gone on for so long I had banks and other agencies coming down on me. Action had to be taken. Josh was recommended to me through one of the attorneys that was working on the case and the new issues that had risen was out of his arena. Josh met with me and quickly did his assessment and brought himself up to speed with all that had happened over the past 5 years. He immediately began to draw up resolutions to settled the matter I hired him on and the issues that caused the issue in the first place. The third and fourth order effects of his work laid the foundation to end all the other issues from the past 5 years. His aggressiveness, communication and negotiating with the other parties was instrumental in bringing everything to a close in a matter of months. Hind sight, I believe if I had gone to him in the beginning a lot of things would have played out differently to my favor. I greatly appreciated his directness and professionalism. I pray I never have to deal with such horrible circumstances again, but should something else arise in this day of lawsuits he will be the first person I call. I highly recommend Josh, except to the bad people that bring this sort of stuff on!

Divine Intervention
After I was recklessly rear-ended in an auto accident, I was very lucky to walk away from my totaled car--it was not until later that my injuries became worse and began to manifest, but by that point I was already attempting to deal with the insurance companies on my own. When I finally broke down and called my attorney, he was too busy to take my case and referred me to Josh Johnson. For me, that was "divine intervention". From the time that the accident occured, I tried to protect myself. I took photos at the scene on my phone and went home and made a sketch, kept records, recorded my phone calls with the insurance companies, etc.....and I'm sure that being proactive helped put the pieces together when I finally met Josh Johnson. Josh is everything you would want in an attorney: he is punctual, organized, direct, compassionate, forthright and had an uncanny sense of knowing what I was going through. He handled my case flawlessly and was extremely easy to work with. You have to pick and choose your battles in this life, and this was one with which I realized I needed help. I am profoundly thankful that Josh had my back and was able to win my case. It was not a large case, but he handled me the same as a large client. I can't thank Josh Johnson enough for helping me to put the accident behind me, emotionally and financially. If you are looking for a local attorney, I would highly recommend Josh Johnson.

Josh Johnson is a straight-shooter who is a competent, level-headed, and effective attorney. Legal issue related to tenant occupancy
Josh helped us identify and consider legal issues related to tenant occupancy of rental property, Virginia law re landlord rights and responsibilities vs. those of tenants, landlord recourse options if needed, and certain critical communications with tenants and rental agents. His information provided was very clear and understandable, very prompt, and the communications he helped us with were very effective. We enjoyed working with him very much and would gladly do so again.

Solved contractural dispute with slow builder
Mr. Johnson helped us in a dispute with a general contractor who did very slow work with poor oversight of his subcontractors. At the end of the project there was a large gap between what we had already paid, what was "owed", and what we felt was reasonable to pay to settle the contract. Josh guided us through this very cleanly with a clear intent not to Nickel and Dime us with trivial charges. He had a good sense of how to negotiate the payoff and in the end saved us quite a bit of money with very little headache. We would use him again with no hesitation in any future legal matters.

Traffic Violation Nightmare

Great Lawyer
I retained Mr. Johnson to represent me in a legal matter that had the potential to be somewhat involved. Mr. Johnson was very upbeat and optimistic from the very start. I was surprised by the fact that Josh consistently reached out to me to follow up on details as they arose. Communication on his part was exemplary and very refreshing. Ultimately the case was dropped as was his plan.
