E. Jane Smart Hansch is an attorney licensed to practice in Virginia and North Carolina. Mrs. Hansch is pleased to be serving the people of Virginia with the education and experiences she has been blessed to receive around the world.
In all that she does, Mrs. Hansch is intuitively able to connect well with clients, and meets them in difficult legal situations with compassion and understanding. She understands the true meaning of personalized service, and works to communicate and create plans of action that are appropriate and tailored to each client’s needs.
E. Jane Smart Hansch received her law degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In her first year at Carolina Law, Mrs. Hansch received the Gressman-Pollitt Award for Outstanding Oral Advocacy. While at Carolina, she also worked on the staff of the Graduate Student Attorney General, and was a member of Carolina Women in Law and the Christian Legal Society.
Jane Smart Hansch graduated suma cum laude with Honors from Salem College with her B.A. degrees in International Relations and Spanish. She received the President’s Prize for International Relations along with Departmental Honors in Spanish. Mrs. Hansch was also the first student in the history of Salem College to receive the Algernon Sydney Sullivan Award for showing remarkable character and integrity, and by demonstrating a commitment to serving others.
Shaped by a passion for experiential learning, Mrs. Hansch was a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar to La Plata, Argentina in 2006 and later spent a year working as a Christian campus minister in Beirut, Lebanon. Mrs. Hansch currently lives in Hampton, Virginia with her wonderful husband, Davy. They are active members of Crossroads Community Church in Yorktown and participate in a weekly couples’ Bible study at First Baptist Church in Newport News.
