William Henry O'Brien

He was hired to represent my daughters in a case where there were Protective Orders issued on both sides. He was horrible with communication, and he definitely didn't represent us to the best of his ability. He told me I was a hot head, which I found to be VERY unprofessional. There was never any ...type of Engagement Letter presented to us explaining the fee arrangement or the scope of work to be done. He called my husband and asked that he bring a $5,000 check to the office to represent us in this matter. When my husband got to the office, O'Brien was of course not there to discuss how the $5,000.00 was being applied. Long story short, the matter was dropped on both sides, and it had NOTHING to do with anything that he did in this matter, which was ABSOLUTELY NOTHING but waste our time and take our money. The other side did not have the money to pursue it any further. If considering hiring him to represent you, HAVE AN ENGAGEMENT LETTER DETAILING YOUR FEE AGREEMENT, DEMAND COPIES OF ALL CORRESPONDENCE SENT TO OPPOSING COUNSEL, DEMAND BILLING STATEMENTS FOR HIS TIME SPENT ON YOUR CASE AND DOCUMENT EVERY TIME YOU CALL HIM (TIME AND DATE) SO YOU HAVE A RECORD OF HOW MANY TIMES YOU CALL HIM AND HE DOESN'T RETURN YOUR CALL. KEEP ALL TEXT OR EMAIL MESSAGES........YOU WILL NEED THEM!!!!!!

This is my fourth time retaining Happy. He is genious in a courtroom. It is amazing to watch him in action. YOU SIMPLY CANNOT HIRE A BETTER ATTORNEY!!! My husband was arrested for a DUI 3rd and in the end, he ended up with a $350 fine, no jail time (even though he had been held for 2 1/2 months) and only 2 misdemeanors and 2 non-moving traffic violations. Happy took the case, provided absolutely excellen...t representation, and treated us as people and not part of the 'cattle herd'. Worth every penny...and such a good man!

Happy has to be the best DUI Defense Atty in Hampton Roads He was thoroughly prepared and aggressive with my defense He was able to keep much of the Commonwealths evidence suppressed. This was huge in winning this case! He was clearly better than the Commonwealth and it showed. The case was won ...even before closing arguments occurred. His knowledge of the law was evident and his mastery at trial was crucial to a total acquittal I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for aggressive defense!
